yeah magnets, bases look fine and classy for what they are but not reliable stationing your figures.

joker shoes are inconsistent with magnet strength, gandalf's base wobbles and batman's base feels too hollow, cheap, and only has 1 magnet connection to the heel

Currently Jaxon's mouth plate and lips looks more like Keaton's than dx09, Unreals and 2.0s to me, especially from this top down camera angle. Keaton's lips aren't that big especially when relaxed, he just did a puckered up lips look in some scenes that people remember him by (hopefully Jaxon does a mouth plate version of that).

It's hard to find camera shots of the movie with a similar camera angle and clear view of his face with a top down angle (you can tell by the angle of the cowl nose), most scenes are shot with a low camera looking upward or straight ahead.

Jaxon's mouth plate looks very good already. While I'm happy enough with the 2.0 I'd give that one a shot.

Jaxon’s mouth plate needs to be slightly opened.
This will give the appearance of fuller lips and raise them towards the nose of the cowl.

Now this is my opinion. I'm gonna say it with as much respect as I can.

Everyone knows how I feel about the Unreal sculpt. At any price, I just ain't feeling it. That said, I'm quite interested in the Jaxon version. Now, if it's $300, so be it. Counts me out. But while the price barrier is one I won't leap, I still think it's a super damn fine effort in the right direction.

This isn't brand loyalty (I have a Jaxon cape), this isn't going out of my way to double down on disagreeing with some folks.

To me, it's honestly better. If it were affordable, I'd consider it. But $300 ain't it for me like Unreal wants. Jaxon could cost that and I'd say the same.

I genuinely do not like the Unreal sculpt, personally. I was afraid folks thought there was bias on my part because of Unreal price.

If I pretend both are priced at $300, I'm avoiding the Unreal sculpt like the plague. It's not price bias. I promise.

Does anyone have the tonymei cape on their dx09? Wondering how his compares to jaxon and unreal. Considering getting his updated 2024 version for the mms692

Jaxon faceplates are the better option. The 2.0 cowl is screen accurate regardless of the eye lids not looking right. I do believe this will be $25-30 for the faceplate. That's if Jaxon doesn't make a few more to sell as a bundle then it costing $50-60 range wouldn't be that bad.

Jaxon is generally considered a better cape but only by a bit. Texture wise (visually) the old champ Tonymei didn't compare to the Jaxon. I was unaware Tonymei had a new version. That sounds promising. He was the original pioneer in drape capes. Good times.

i have unreal's head that i plan to put on my modded dx09 with his single layer wire cape,

then will look further when jazzinc does theirs, whenever that is and cull the set and retire what I don't need

At this point, while Jaxon’s offering looks better to me than stock 2.0, I think the issue with likeness lies in the eye plate. Both in the shape and how open they are. Unfortunately a better mouth plate won’t fix that, or the more major issue for me of how the body looks.

Like I’ve said before, if you don’t already have an 89 Bats, the 2.0 is king. I already have the DX09 and am using the money I was gonna spend on the 2.0 for other options.

Here's Tony's 2014 89 cape. He had access and studied the real cape, which he's been refining since. Jaxon's pattern material is similar to Tony's 2014 cape, where it didn't really look like leather when you look up close but was enough to give off a sheen. Tony's 2024 cape has a new pattern that looks much better.
