Thanks man, I appreciate it. Pretty much all my complaints about the cowl flew out the window with the addition of the faceplate and the black paint on the eyelids. The faceplates are what really seem to hurt the sculpt.

Yeah it's funny, of all three I went with the most neutral looking face plate. Still doesn't look right. I'd love to do the eye mod one day though. That is a MUST.

I ordered October 9th....
Oh well, my Luke DX Ex. converted so that will be charging on Monday. Would've been a bit crazy getting both at the same time.
I got a response back and they said that people who placed their order before 9/30/12 were the only customer’s emailed as they only received a partial shipment. They're getting more next week but said it's possible it won't be shipped out till the week after because of Thanksgiving
I ordered October 9th....
Oh well, my Luke DX Ex. converted so that will be charging on Monday. Would've been a bit crazy getting both at the same time.

Well today was a good day..
Got DX Batman, DX luke and hawkeye (my wallet filed for a restraining order under allegations of abuse) Batman is absolutely incredible, so glad I got this, funny thing though, I was going through the weapons tray popping things out, For some reason I couldnt get the front 'handle' part of the sticky gun out... Then I look underneath the tray and there is a Second one magnetically attached underneath, lol
I smiled of course cause it was a nice little bonus (though its utterly useless) I figured ill use it in an armory if i ever get around to doing one haha

I haven't been able to keep up with this thread. Too busy getting lost in the custom section. Aside from the likeness complaints and inaccuracies like the symbol, what's the general consensus? Is this all and all a cut above the DX02? Are there any QC issues that are becoming a pattern?

No, it,s a matte varnish. Just a poly a very thin coat where the shiny spots are and they'll become invisible. That's what I do when a hs is too shiny and it makes miracle.
Any good hobby store where they sell figure paint will probably have a brand of some sort. Now, some are better than others. In France, the best we have is pebeo, but I don't remember the name of the greatest one in the USA. I'm sure other freaks will point you toward the right direction.
EDIT : I think the US brand is testor... Unfortunately banned from Europe because of one of its chemical substance.

I think so far, the general consensus has been positive, barring a few criticisms every now and then. Mainly about the eyes, but once in hand, those complaints were retracted. However one complaint that's been universal are the mouth plates. Especially the neutral mouth. Unfortunately he just has this dumb looking smirk that doesn't look good with any angle. However, under certain lighting conditions the smirk effect is lessened...but that's not preferred considering how everyone here has different display set ups and its kinda retarded to always have batman posed under that light ONLY.
I have both dx02 and dx12, and without a doubt dx12 outclasses the dx02 in about every conceivable way....that's if you mod the dx02s mouth plates to fit dx12. But everything else, build quality, overall feel, dx12 is the best 1/6 representation of the character to date.

Borrowed this picture from a few pages back. Here is a quick mod in Photoshop that I will do when I get this figure. I will shorten and widen the neck. Neck cover too tight does not look right to me. Risen the lower eyelids just a little makes a huge difference for sure. Shame on you Hot Toys for not getting this figure right on the 3rd attempt
