Am I seeing the same sculpt as some of you? I need to find my star wars goggles and look at the sculpt again.

$290? More expensive than the dx11 lmao. Wow. The hype is real I suppose.

If jar jar abrams pulls the same **** he's done to star trek, you might be singing a different tune.

while its not in the same vein as the classics, i enjoyed the new Star Treks....

i think they were fun action movies while still able to keep the original stories alive....

granted star trek isn't supposed to be a pure action show, but until they actually put one back on air , im happy to enjoy the movies just fine

i could end up wrong, but i feel better knowing JJ is doing the movies as opposed to Lucas or someone i didnt know...

290 for the set isn't too bad, I was thinking it would land north of $300 because they'd try to sell us a $100 BB-8. An extra $65 for BB-8 isn't too bad.

Placed a PO for the BB-8 and Rey set with BBTS. I may cancel it and go with the regular Rey since I already have the Sphero BB-8. I guess when the comparison pics come out to see how off the scale is between both BB-8s I'll decide.

I agree the second Trek movie left a lot to be desired, but I think that's because he and his writers were never a good match for the franchise. So far this seems to be a MUCH better fit, and I haven't seen anything yet that's caused me to question that.

They have some decent qualities but they poo all over Gene Roddenberrys vision. They have no real meaning, no message of any real importance, no substance.

So far from what we have seen of star wars is the same, action sequences, people running towards the camera with explosions behind them (because that's always necessary), cgi ship battles (since that's exciting for a few minutes). We havnt seen anything that makes me think this movie is going to be great. No bad, but nothing special except that it's star wars.

Ehh.. $300 I feel is overpriced. Feels like a $270 two pack.. at that price.. I might think about it.

I guess I'm not seeing a $200+ figure here if the bb8 is $65 of it. I also bought and sold the sphero. Boy was that thing a dissapointment.

I am laughing at the price complainers, you guys are great. $290 for the set is a great deal with the ever raising prices. Complaining about a $65 BB-8, really? They could have put him as a single figure at $120 for you all and not offer the set.

I keep thinking this as each new release comes out. I can't get them all and this is the first of many many movies to come. The hardest thing is trying to figure out which ones are the 'can't miss this time around' figures. Is this version of Rey going to be 'the iconic' version? etc..... I hope I choose wisely. I threw in an order at BBTS for the heck of it.

Hm. Good question. For myself, I guess I'll just take things as they come, if that makes any sense. As long as I like both the head sculpt and the outfit, I'll probably order. You never know if a new version/figure of a character will get a new, and possibly bad, head sculpt. But if I end up really, really loving a character and loving the new figure/version, then I might just consider getting it. Even if I already own a previous version.

As for the most iconic version, I personally feel that A new hope had the best/most iconic version of all the main characters in the original trilogy, so I'm not to worried.

Impressive list of pre-orders by the way.

Couldn't disagree more. Star Trek '09 was brilliant and while STID was a rehash of WOK it was a damn good movie. There's tons of meaning and heart in ALL of JJ's films, hence how he got the STAR WARS gig twice (turned it down the first time).

Levar Burton even called him out on it twice and I felt exactly as he did while watching both films. I can do my best to appreciate the first one for what it is, entertaining. Not the second one though.

I hope you're right though about star wars, I really hope this movie and trilogy are amazing and everything we want them to be.

I'm not a ST fan (at all - and had a Trekkie as a roommate:slap) but I enjoyed ST '09 as a Summer movie - more enjoyable than any other ST movie or show I've seen. "Into Darkness" I didn't like - instantly forgettable, despite having seen it more recently.

As for Abrams' other movies, can't say any have been that memorable or will be considered classics in the future, but I'm going into TFA with an open mind knowing it's also Kasdan, Ford and even Adam Driver contributing creatively.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. These releases are just coming way too fast and overpriced for me to even dream of keeping up. At this point I'm actually just considering waiting to see what PFs Sideshow does for TFA and picking up one or two of them. At least I can rely on SS to take their sweet time to release them and I'll have much longer to pay them off. With these Hot Toys I'm looking at four payments a month totaling well over $250 just for the figures I'm interested in in TFA alone, never mind the OT. I want them, but I know realistically I just can't do it.

I know what you mean...I only have one PF on pre-order...Vader. I've decided to just get Jedi or Sith on Star Wars PF's and Marvel characters I like in Hot Toys. I'm just very selective due to their prices. I have the Winter Solider HT fig and I'm not even going to try to collect all of the Avengers. I'm just focusing on my favs. This Rey and BB-8 set looks awesome though!

Awesome figure...something about it though really mutes Daisy's beauty.

Her eyebrows are very dark and sculpted in real life..Thats what it is.

I'm pretty much taking things as they come too while keeping focus on the OT figures. ANH was the most iconic for me as well, but I don't think that TFA will have the same impact on me as ANH did when I was a kid. That makes me wonder if I shouldn't just hold off a bit on this movie and see what comes next. i.e. I feel like if I removed my childhood nostalgia from the OT I might prefer ESB Han and Leia and ROTJ Luke and Vader more than the ANH versions. Probably just over-thinking it though.
