Design was OK for a strange background "cantina" character but doesn't seem ideal or natural for a primarily underwater creature.

Admiral Ackbar and squidhead definitely nail the "primarily underwater creature" though.:lol

The ILM guys must have been having a lot of seafood during ROTJ.:dunno

Pretty sure it will be BB-8 and his copycat cuteness of R2.

Just wait until his hover-jets pop out.

I'm pretty much taking things as they come too while keeping focus on the OT figures. ANH was the most iconic for me as well, but I don't think that TFA will have the same impact on me as ANH did when I was a kid. That makes me wonder if I shouldn't just hold off a bit on this movie and see what comes next. i.e. I feel like if I removed my childhood nostalgia from the OT I might prefer ESB Han and Leia and ROTJ Luke and Vader more than the ANH versions. Probably just over-thinking it though.

A big part of it is how old you are akin to 1977 and what OT movie you were introduced into. I am partial to ESB as a movie, however the ANH farmboy/x-wing Luke is by far my favorite look. People younger tend to love Luke Jedi. Seems the same with other franchises like Rocky (big battles for Rocky I/II vs Rocky IV). All about the timing and how you get introduced.

I preordered at BBTS...hopefully i can keep it. She looks like she'll be a cool character and a central one at that plus i love the droids so this seemed like a great first Force Awakens figure to order. I have to say though i agree this hobby is pricing me out. I really have to watch what i order. $290 on a 12 inch toy and a even smaller ball is quite a bit. I do enjoy this hobby, but I'll be dammed if I'm going to skip bills or charge these things.

No f ing way paying 290.00 plus Sideshow shipping charge of 20.00 plus dollars. We are officially at 300.00 1/6 figures. I am out. This is ridiculous. The hobby is pretty much dead for me now. High end mass produced Toys is where we are at. Secondary market is dead. There is no feeling that I have a special collectible with limited number being produced. Sad for a non dx figure. Done. Collecting mainly premium format now.

So far from what we have seen of star wars is the same, action sequences, people running towards the camera with explosions behind them (because that's always necessary), cgi ship battles (since that's exciting for a few minutes). We havnt seen anything that makes me think this movie is going to be great. No bad, but nothing special except that it's star wars.

Well I've honestly never found the OT to be particularly deep or complex either (and yes, that even includes ESB). What always made them work was that they were basically fun adventure movies with really dynamic characters and a lot of heart, and that seems to be exactly what JJ is trying to recapture with his movie.

$290 USD = $392 CAD
$40 USD = $54 estimated shipping
+ $51 tax on delivery
--------------------------
$497

...and on a character we have not even seen yet?

I think the only other easier pass would be is if they made Jar Jar.!

You just started in Jan 2014 and you're already out? Why did you even start?

I think purchasing TFA HT figures is a massive waste of money. This character will have so many incarnation do you really want them all?? Cough MARVEL/AVENGERS!! Stick to selecting from movies that are done. OT/PT.

Figure looks great, but seriously, a $65 markup for sand and BB-8??? What in the holy ***** are they trying to do?

I actually started in early 2013 and have around 200 plus figures. So smart a$$ i started because i wanted to start a hobby and relive my childhood again from stuff i loved growing up in the 70's as a kid, mainly star wars and batman. Early in life i had to sell my collections because starting out in life and bills and things came up. I am at the point where you have to justify a price I am willing to pay.

The prices are getting out if reach. I am retired and have a nice monthly check coming in, but do not want to waste money on something I feel is way over priced. I will pick up core star wars characters and finish up original trilogy once they are discounted or used on eBay. I know you do not buy figures as an investment, but damn they should at least hold their retail price value. At this point you can't even sell figures to break even it seems anymore.

Sorry if rude, but your question came off like a smart a$$ to me.

I am laughing at the price complainers, you guys are great. $290 for the set is a great deal with the ever raising prices. Complaining about a $65 BB-8, really? They could have put him as a single figure at $120 for you all and not offer the set.

But wwejedi... Is laughing at all of us because this is such a sweet friggin deal guys. We need to quit are complaining because we have the privaledge to buy these amazingly detailed toys at great prices! Don't miss out on that star wars girl who's movie you havnt seen yet, who comes with a stick, a pistol and a back backpack.

This. All of this.

This is why I like afattori. He was being a smart ass. Don't worry about it, we call people like that apologists. Hot toys can do no wrong.

 This annoys me... I would've been interested in BB-8 but could care less for Rey. I hate when they do 2 packs like this. Offer them both separate, then do a 2 pack with some extra exclusive and a price discount. They've used that model with nearly every 2pk release except the Iron Man MK9 and now this... Well, if I like the movie maybe I'll pick it up then dump Rey... :dunno

They did that with Gordon / Blake too. I wanted only Gordon.
I agree, they should always release the figures separate too. Thankfully, in this case, I do want both.

Wasn't meant to be. I was just curious, generally people complain when, like me, they started when figures were $50 and are now $300. Starting two years ago seems like the prices were already high to start and have only gone up $40+ in general. So no, legitimate question. But I got your answer.

Price seems fine if you ask me. $225 is a pretty average price for a human character and Rey comes with a decent amount of accessories and two head sculpts. Adding BB-8 for $65 more seems reasonable considering that R2 on its own was $150.

:goodpost: Agree 100%!
