Kathleen kennedy said the saga films follow the skywalker saga and the anthology films are other stories. That means there must/should be a new skywalker as the main character...(we already know luke was certainly not the main character in tfa). technically ren is a skywalker so his redemption is a possibility. The only other option would be rey. Not sure how I'd feel about this?

My guess is that the one that yoda spoke of (there is another) had to bring Luke's saber to the Jedi temple in order to fulfill the prophecy. So if Rey is Luke's daughter she was separated for her safety and also to see if that would be her destiny. I would say the odds are that she is related to Luke but I don't see how it ruins anything whether she is or isn't.

I think if they were gonna take the obvious route, then they would have revealed it already. Everyone and their mothers dog thought she was Luke's daughter since she was cast. Why would they hold it back if that were the case?
