Hey all, .... I'm getting really antsy waiting for this piece of perfection. Can I pick the brains of any UK Freaks that might be around.....

This is my First Hot Toys figure, and I was wondering if anyone else here has ordered a previous release from FP here in the uk, and If so what the 'lag' time usually is, from the first in hand pictures being posted from the far east and them getting out to Third Party vendors over here...

I also collect Sideshow's Star Wars, and those seem to be about a 2 month wait from the first in Hand pictures to them being shipped......

I got Mech Test Tony Stark in the mail, but the wires connecting his chest LED were broken at the connector. Instead of trying to battle with customer service, I am going to fix him myself. So no pics for now. But his stand and base work great with the BD Mark III:

ok well the mod is permanent but I can still take him back to the original glow plugs. There is no gluing or breaking of things. Will he be like new? no, but Im not in this hobby for resale. here is quick one to show how I did it.

instead of "modifying" the existing arm would it be possible to replace the forarm with a set from another T so you could potentially reverse the process? I am not sure which TT has the same elbow joint to allow this but if possible would that not be a better solution (ok $30 more as well for the TT but then you also get extra neckadapter, neck, pegs etc as well ;)

Im not sure about the size of the arm. Besides I dont have another arm to use. Ill bet it could be replaced with the entire arm from the shoulder. I think the forearm is smaller then a normal TT, but not sure. Im sure it can be done. I have a second Stark coming so this one is going to turn into a Holmes custom after all is said and done anyway. So if anyone is in the market for some boots and stuff let me know. Ill sell them cheap.

Different elbow joint..... but same upper arms.. you can switch the forearm together with the elbow....

but why not just switch the head to a new TT body, unless u want the ArcReactor chest..... than elbows and forearm it is....

Replacing from the upper arms is far easier... where the elbow joints plug into it.

forearm and lower legs on MT Tony are slimmer..... than regular TT

I stocked up on TT bodies... I've 2 dozen..

It is possible to get 6 (Advance) to 8 narrow shoulder TT with one MechTest.

Up to 12 old shiny plastic regular TT (wish I bought more but the moment had passed)

Yeah but I need the head and to get a separate head will cost $80. I can modify the body that comes with but I cant sculpt a Tony head. Besides I got a tony for $120. Without a good head TT are useless to me.

Guys, ok I wanna kitbash a suited tony from the mech test head.

Ive already got the head, just a bit confused which body to use, as each has its pros and cons.

narrow TT body:

works well, except that I have to modify the long neck (breaking it in half and taking out the ball joint)that originally came with the men's suit. Because I have tried using normal spare TT necks I have lying around, but its too short and makes him looks like hes sinking inside the suit.

mech test body:

should fit great for the head, but Im not sure if the men suit will fit that body. And also, some mods will be needed for the hands area which I'm not particularly good at :(

So what you guys think? comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated :duff

I would stick with Mech body because of the distance from head to shoulders. It gives more room and also the porportions seem better on the Mech body. The torso, to me looks longer which seems closer to human size. The arms and legs are thinner because of the hardware so it wont look as bulky with the added layers. Its the reason Im using it for my holmes body.

I can help with the hand mod if you need it. You can always pull the forearms and elbows off your TT and put them on the Mech body

With exception of the fixed neck on the Mech Test body... It is essentially a narrow shoulder TT....

You may want to try the neck connector from the Advance body.. The double ball joint are longer and offers more articulation.

Men's suit is rather large for the normal TT... It's a bit loose with the narrow shoulder body...

MT Tony's head on an Advance TT neck on a narrow body...

Thanks for the comments guys.

Robbie, I thought bout that, but I'm kinda worried that the men suit won't fit as well on the mech test body. plus, its kinda pricy compared to narrow TT body.

Bandito, that looks good. But did you do any mods on the neck? How did you do that?
