Hey Nick,

Random question. I asked it earlier today, but no one replied.

I'm trying to take the pegs off of Spidey's hands, so I can switch them out with the other hands. What's the best way to do it? (I think this was asked before, but can't find where the post was.)

I've tried pulling with my hands, but honestly, it's so small I can't even budge it. Advice? Technique? I don't want to break one, after reading how delicate they can be.

Make sure you pull straight. One method that works on ones that arent too tight is very simple. Put one of the hands back on, preferably a hand that is easy to grip and pull on. I find the relaxed palms to be the best. Then, because the hands are actually rubber, squeez the hand really tight near the base of the hand where the beg goes in. Pull out as straight as possible and you should be fine. If it still doesnt come out of the forearm, you'll need pliers. If that's the case, ask again and I'll give you pointers on that too so as not to damage anything :D

On one of my spidies, the forearm was super tight so i just took a bit of the material out with a small knife. now it slides right in but is still snug enough to hold the hand in firmly.

If the hands are the problem and not the forearms then technically you can do the same thing by removing some material. However, I would just leave the pegs in the hands and pull them out of the forearm since that is the bigger part of the peg. I have my pegs in four hands and just try to swap between those so I dont accidentally break the small parts of the pegs right off.

Dipping the hands in hot (not boiling) water makes the plastic more forgiving. Go slow when you're removing the peg and pull it out straight. Red plastic is notorious for being brittle so I wouldn't try to angle it or wiggle it around too much.

I tried really hard to word that without it sounding like something sexual. :lol

Thanks for the advice. :rock

That's my problem. When I pull the hands off, the pegs come right with them. I was trying to get the forearm socket to keep them in place, so that the hands will pull off, but can't get it.

So now, I just have the pegs and the hands. And since the pegs are so small, I can barely get a grip on them.

It's not a BIG deal. I like the options I have displayed current, BUT I do want to change it up once in a while.

Any way to make the forearm socket 'hold' stronger? I know this sounds stupid. :lol I've said it before though. I'm a HT n00b. :lecture

but making it sound sexual is the fun part!

i wouldnt worry about that, just make the hands hold looser lol

one easy method is to pull the black undershirt down the arm a bit and make the wrist peg push the excess in the peg hole along with the peg...hope that makes sense

Ah. I see what you're saying. I'll give that a shot tomorrow. Much appreciated. :rock

What about the extra pegs that came with Spiderman? You could also wrap a little plummer tape on the peg before inserting it into the wrist.

They're in another pair of Spidey's hands. Can't pull those out either. :lol :slap (Such is my luck.)

Okeedokee

You always have to prepare yourself whenever you open a 1/6 figure because months of looking at ultraz high rez photos messes with your mind.

You're so used to seeing huge close up details on the figure that when you finally do look at the actual figure, the details feel so tiny.

Spidey is no different and he's even a primary example of this perception readjustment.

His webbing looks so thin and the suit details and spiders so tiny that at first it's so underwhelming.

But then your eyes begin to readjust to the actual scale and more and more of his intricate details begin to emerge.

Now, onto him.

I received a minty fresh one :yess:

Whew!

Is he my favorite figure.

Nope.

Does Spidey belong on every serious Marvel collector's shelf.

Yup.

Nuff Said.

^..so what figures top Spidey in your collection Jye?

Well, mind you it's a tiny up and coming collection, one where in the future # 1,2 and 3 will belong to Keaton Batman, Jack Joker and CR Superman, in no particular order at the moment.

Because they're iconic in every sense of the word.

If I owned Mark 1, he would be 5th :lol

But this is not the future, this is the now so here goes kind sir:

#1. Blade
#2. DX02 Batman
#3. Iron Man Mark IV
#4. King Leonidas
#5. War Machine
#6. Bank Robber Joker
#7. Spiderman
#8. Thor

Sold my Takara and Original OC Batman but the new OC is on order, where he will fall in the list is an unknown.

Captain America, based on photos, more than likely will be # 4 once I have Keaton, Jack and CR.

BTW, I feel so nervious handling Spidey's rubber suit webbing :panic:

That ____ is not mean to be played with!

Pose him and leave him!
