yeah, that just sucks. Any idea how the cartoon series works though? The first season of Earth's Mightiest was already awesome, but Spidey in it would've really been beyond words.

And I already got billed for my Thor today so hopefully, it'll be on route tomm

Yeah, it sucks. I'd love to see him mixed into the Marvel universe with Marvels movie stuff. I watched most of the season and it was good. I'll pick it up on blu. No idea on how that works. Best to ask Mike he probably knows that.

I got billed as well. Should ship tomorrow.

They can use pretty much anyone they want in the cartoons these days, hence Wolverine appearing in an Avengers episode. Sony used to have a lock on Spider-Man, but part of the deal that allowed them to retain the film rights also had them give back animation rights to Marvel. I assume they're waiting for the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon to debut before they contemplate any crossover with him.

sadly....I had to cancel Thor....have a family trip to NY next week and just couldn't fit him into the budget.....hopefully he'll stay in stock for a little while and I can nab him at the end of the month....

If that pic becomes official i will wait until this Cap version. I like the red and white design of his abdomen, much closer to the comic version.

It is official. It is licensing artwork. It's the kind that you see on figures. The film costume will mirror that maybe with a few tweaks.

They didn't actually have anything called an arc reactor in the comics until recently. Back in the day he just had a giant magnet built into the Iron Man chest plate. Until they finally removed the shrapnel from his chest Tony had to wear the chest plate at all time.

The arc reactor was introduced into the comics as a nod to the movie. First Tony built one for Pepper after she was caught in a bomb blast, and now he uses one in his body because it's so heavily modified and no longer capable of functioning on its own.

Yeah, that's right. I forgot he would just wear the breastplate all day, sorry for my mistake :x

The discussion about Tony's arc is kind of funny. You guys to realize that the element is triangular but the arc reactor in his chest is circular right? Even with the triangular Mark VI chest plating. So honestly it's just a plating change over the chest. If you look at the shoulders, its a modified suit. Remember the Mark VI was damaged in the end fight with Vanko so it could be that he just slapped another plate on it and called it a day.

Rumors are that in Iron Man 3 costume designers are looking at the current "Modular Armor" as it is being called from the latest pages of Invincible and The Avengers so we might get yet another change by the time that rolls around.

Right thats what I was trying to explain in one of the other threads that it looks as if they just went back to the circle plating on the armor.

It bugs me that they're using the name "Modular Armor" for the current suit, as that's also the name of this one from the '90s:

If you read the description on Hasbro's Modular Armor figure it even sounds like they're talking about the old suit. I prefer "The Bleeding Edge Armor" as some fans have started calling it, or even "The Resilient Armor" since it was introduced in the story arc called "Resilient."

On a related note, I wish Sideshow or Bowen would tackle the old Modular Armor already. I have a soft spot for it since it was used in the '90s cartoon and the Marvel vs. Capcom games.

It is weird. The only thing I can figure is that Bleeding Edge or whatever wasn't trademarkable so they went with something safe they know they could use like the Modular armor.

I took a good look at this while I was at the display at 1:6 Xpo. My main problem with it was the position of the helmet - it looked like it was sitting too high on the head. i'll wait for the Avengers version. knowing HT, they'll make improvements on the 2nd release.

..if this release doesn't sell well enough then HT might not release an updated one from Avengers...:dunno

I'm going to get this now. Could always sell it later if there's an improved version announced. Can't imagine it selling for less than its retail price at any point...and if it that somehow happens I wouldn't mind just keeping it either.

Also if the TDKR line is announced/released next year - which I'm more interested in - I rather not see myself making tough calls between Avengers and TDKR. So, I feel I rather start putting together the Avengers now...with Hulk, Hawkeye, and maybe Nick Fury on the calendar for next year..One thing is for sure 2012's Q3 and Q4 (and perhaps even 2013 Q1) will be packed with some awesome releases! :)

Then don't pose it with the helmet. I feel taking the chance for a second Thor release with Avengers is a real gamble. If there is a second release it may not even come with the helmet:dunno

The way I see it, if it doesn't sell well, they'll just re-release it anyway with whatever minor upgrades he gets in that movie and get more money, for basically the same figure, that way. I'm sure Thor will be a successful figure and will be going for a pretty good price by Christmas.
