Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

where else do you buy?:huh

Buy from Alter Ego Comics! :exactly: :goodpost: (If I do say so myself!)

Plus they have reward points. They ship at the same time (or sooner) that BBTS and their prices are cheaper. What's not to like?

Price wise, :lol sorry but I don't think this figure justifies anything over $150...at the max!

Alter Ego is typically the cheapest...I'll see what they post it for. However, if I'm debating between this and Spidey...guess my decision just got made for me as he's only $135 for a comparable figure.

Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

$135 is asking too little, since the body isn't just some ol' narrow TT. The more specialized bodies put the price a little higher.

Up on SS site for $170.

Up on SS site for $170.

Ok, that's more reasonable :lol

See, their marketing worked....the over $200 was too make us look at the reduced $170 for a figure with one HS and go :yess:

:lol

AEC should be at their usual $162.00 :hi5:

Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

1080=125/+50=$175USD :panic::panic::panic:

it's too bad we can never get them as cheap as they are in Asia. $125 plus shipping (within the US, from a US seller) would dope as ____. :lol

Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

Yeah... $150-$160 from AE was what I was expecting.

Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

Same price as Blade and Wolverine. Will probably buy.

Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

Up on SS site for $170.

Wasn't Wolvie around that price? Might the price have something to do with the fact that it's a Marvel license?
I was expecting less, something more like Royce or Chris Taylor, 150USD on SS and 130 USD straight from China (eBay).

Feels like it kinda has too few assessories for $170? I mean Chris Taylor has bunch of stuff in the box.
I guess the metal hammer must cost a lot to make then?

Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

Guys, Ht hasnt been increasing prices lately, I reckon its just the mark ups your retailers add to the original price due to its popularity?

its 180.00 SGD for thor in singapore which converts to only about 140.083 USD

Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

Well Spidey is pretty cheap (on AlterEgo... don't know about Sideshow) so I don't think it has anything to do with Marvel.

Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

Maybe... License price. Body. More complicated outfit.

Chris Taylor was a really easy figure for them.

Yeah, a little more inline with what I was thinking. I would have paid $200 but prefer less obviously.

He did cost $170 a well and I agree Thor should come with a few more hands at least.

Yeah, forgot about Spidey, but still this feels a tad too little effort for $170? Regardless of the movie, I'm still considering this...
Thor played a big part in my childhood, so there's always the nostalgia factor.

+ Spidey comes minus the headsculpt ofcourse???

The price ~$170 is a tad high, but the body armor (detailing, paint, etc...) must be pushing the price up. Compare it to Mark V and Spidey and you start seeing variations in prices depending on production costs. That being said, if the movie flops, look out below.

Compared to Indiana Jones, this is a decent value.

Re: Hot Toys MMS- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) 1/6 Limited Edition Figure Full Specs + Pics

Yeah, I'm thinking this will be akin to Wolverine, price-wise, since he has the muscle body and metal hammer. I think Wolvie went for $170 or so when he was available at retail. Figuring a bit of inflation, this could be even higher. But I expect something around there.

:yess:

As for BBTS, sometimes they are too high to start out, but sometimes they are too low (they were with Spidey and DX Indy, and jacked both prices up after Sideshow listings went up).

They'll come down a bit.

I think Black Widow (or maybe it was Jill Valentine?) was originally $200 there.
