$170? $40 too high....I'll pass for now and we'll see once its in hand somewhere.

Like stated numerous times, figures like Wolverine sold for that high. And since this figure is using a similar/same body, we cannot expect them to sell it for what we want. I mean, if it was just a regular Narrow TT, sure... but it's not.

And who said you had to pay 170? Buy from Alter Ego or from Viking Playground (always matches with AE) for like $152.

People always jump the gun on this stuff and do not keep things in context.

$170 is a pretty standard rate for Hot Toys at this point. It would probably be a good move to start expecting (at least) that. I figure the sub $140 far will be relegated to females, really basic figures on traditional True Type bodies, and figures from cheap-o licenses like Platoon.

I see where you're coming from saying that less popular titles like Platoon will be cheaper, but more expensive titles like Marvel stuff will also sell significantly more to make up for the more expensive license...

I think its more like they know which characters tend to be more popular so they up the price.

There is no way a regular character with clothing should cost as much as or very close to say Iron Man MkIV with all the engineering involved in the design.

At the very least they should have created a new, buffer muscle body at this price rather than reusing the same body again.

Comparing Thor's price to Wolverine's price isnt fair since they designed a new body for Wolverine.

Just my two cents :) I could be completely wrong...

Regardless, I'll most likely pick this character up :D

Meh. Forget it.
Mike, what happened to the, will wait until its in hand somewhere....? ;)

I'm on the fence, more towards "Pass" as well. The reason is, the more I watch the movie trailer, the more I wish Thor was a little thicker around the chest, shoulders, arms. Not that Hemsworth is small but I would prefer Thor to be a little more massive.

I agree with these points.:lecture

:lol I wondered if I edited in time. I went on a rant, figured Internet arguments are about as functional as screaming in a wall and took the higher ground. I guess Spider-Man at $139 (Toys2 price) is just a fantastic deal and we should be thanking our lucky stars for a high caliber, higher tiered hero that is completely covered up so probably on the same TT as Thor to be priced so low.

I know what you're saying about Spidey...using the logic I posted before he should be more expensive but isnt.

My only guess as to why Spidey is so much lower is because he's coming out way after the movie whereas the others tend to be more closely released to the movies when all the hype is at its peak.

But like I said before, I could be completely wrong about all of this :D

$153 on Alter Ego doesn't seem too bad in my opinion.

On another note, I had no idea Karamazov80 was a mod. You learn something new every day.

It's supposed to be safe now and I haven't heard of any problems lately. There's always the chance of theft when you buy online with your credit card.

I prefer Alter Ego as they're closer to me and shipping is less.
