$150 used to be the norm for figures only a year ago. Now it is $200 and $220 for "special" figs. I have no doubt it will be $250 by the middle of 2013.

By the end of 2012.....their prices increase about every 6 mos.

There's too many new and interesting (high priced figures) on the way this year from Hot Toys and since I already have the original Mark I and I see only 2 big improved differences both of which don't add up to being worth an additional $219.00, this is an easy pass for me. This is great for collectors who missed the first one and for real die hard fans. It actually has me thinking of the Dark Knight license and how much I would love it if HT re-released the Bat Pod. It's going for just over a grand on Ebay. I regret everyday that I missed it when it was first released.

This is fun. It's collecting. It's a hobby. What I like, you don't have to. And vice versa.

If you have an original, good for you. If you don't and your glad you'll be getting one, like me, thats ok too.

But stop crapping on everyone for being happy about something you're not. The role could easily be reversed.

Why would a re-release be so polarizing. If you don't want an item, then DON'T GET IT. And if its a VALUE issue, YOU DON'T MATTER ANYWAY. If you're into this for profit I hope you took a bath on this. A true collector wouldn't care about someone else being happy about these re-releases. They don't affect you. HT isn't re-releasing figures instead of giving you new ones. If you didn't notice, there are probably 20 or more 1/6 figures being released this year.

And WHAT WITH ALL THE HOT TOYS BASHING? If you don't like the way they are doing business, START COLLECTING PET ROCKS! If all you do is complain about everything hot toys does, why are you here?

Yep, and I will be priced out of the HT game before this year is out...I'm getting the figs I want the most before 2012 is half over, then just getting only the very, very occasional HT figure. I'm in for the annual Star Wars DX figures they're planning, maybe a few Batman figures, and if they do Green Goblin or Doc Ock, I'm in. The only Avengers figures I'll get will be ones I don't already have in some form: Nick Fury, Black Widow (passed on the first one), Hawkeye...dunno about Hulk, I could see him being in the same price range as Iron Monger. And that's about it. Have fun with your new pricing and smaller customer base, HT...

Unfortunately there will always people who will complain and moan about something. Chances are the majority of them will also preorder these same items they complain about. I have the original Mark I and I just preordered the 2.0. I'm a fan of the Iron Man HTs and getting an updated/more improved one (even if its only slight improvements) is badass and exciting. Do I think it sucks that the price has increased? Hell ya it sucks. Am I still gonna buy it cuz I want it and am fortunate enough to be able to afford one at this time? Hell ya! If the prices of Hot Toys is gonna make you whine and complain, just stop buying them. I'd love to get the Iron Monger, but it is outta my price range. Am I gonna complain and whine and moan about it? No...i say congrats to all those getting it and hope they post badass pictures that make me regret not pulling the trigger on it now.

Give Hot Toys credit for milking their license, but I'm holing out until they release Samurai War Monger. Passing on all the others since I'll need to save up for the $600 price point.

Listen, if someone does care about there figure retaining a high value that does not automatically mean there only interested in flipping it for profit, I'm certainly not the only one who likes the feeling of having a figure thats worth almost triple what it retailed for, a figure that some would view a grail. It's a nice feeling but a feeling not many of us will have anymore, elder pred will be the next De-grailed figure after him Wolverine and then probably blade( although I will let them away with wolverine and blade as they could be based on other movies).

I am far from the "elite" on this board (they have their own criteria). I am amused at the negative, provoking tone in several post.

There is nothing wrong with the way you feel at all. Its just sad that people who are thrilled to be able to get this grail are getting bashed. The people that don't matter are the ones that are solely in it for the profit.
