I'm still happy that HT decided to remake this one. I got in after this bad boy was sold out and on eBay for a million dollars.

Same here. Of all of the armors to remake I think this is the best choice, or at least my first choice. I love that they are willing to revisit figures too, though some people don't. I prefer to have something better if it all possible. I still can't get over how great the face sculpt is, I wish it came out of the helmet it's so good. We need a new IM1 Tony Stark head sculpt on this level.

I too got in this hobby a little late for this, glad they remade it

but my real IM grail is the mech test, i hope they remake that one as well

A remake of the Mech Test would only lead me to spend more money, since I would want the Gantry to get the robot piece that goes with Tony's workshop. Money, that's what I want...

Doesnt mech test already come with dummy? :horror

EDIT: He does :lol

Yup, and the Gantry comes with a different one. So it helps make a fuller workshop display. I still don't know why we didn't get the Mech Test head on the 3000 MKVI ltd. edition, since the MKIV head was reissued.. with the MKIV and Gantry. Oh well. I'd be fine with Hot Toys taking the MK1 2.0 head sculpt and sculpting it into a full head and giving us a definitive IM 1 Tony.

Nope, we get the same dummy, this one is just holding a removable fire hose :D

Ah, no wonder, that was throwing me off. Thanks for setting me straight. :slap

I can't wait for the MK I 2.0 to come out though, I almost feel like getting the new DX T-800 since I think they would look bad ass going at each other. Not sure why, but it just seems like a cool idea, lol.

I really like the RDJ headsculpt on this figure. I'm still on the fence on ordering this though...

Apart from the sculpt, which is pants, V1 is superb and I don't need to upgrade .... (as long as I stay out of this thread when the in hand pics appear :))

Has the V1 become hard to sell now because of the reissue? If I had the original I would be trying to get out from under it, at least evenly, in order to get V2.

Goes without saying V1's value hit rock bottom once V2 was announced; same with Predator 2, the Tumbler, The Batpod etc...Like I say though apart from the head sculpt, the figure is a work of art and holds up with anything released today so I'm happy with it.

Yeah, aside from the head sculpt the two figures aren't that different. I suppose if you're displaying him with his mask down you don't really need to upgrade.

Exactly. Lifting the helmet up occasionally is a bonus but display wise I can't imagine too many folk actually having it on display helmet up...

This is one, for me, that will be hard to settle on a display because of the RDJ head sculpt. It's essential to the figure, but at the same time I always loath the struggle multiple display options create.

But it's still under there :gah:

jk :lol

No, seriously, I feel that way, haha. It taunts me "lift up my mask, I'm beautiful, look upon my face. Give me a whiskey on the rocks...".

i pre-ordered this one because i missed out on the first one
:slap stupid me :slap

:pfft: What are you saying, you made a great choice! :hi5:

Not stupid really as you'll soon have te definitive version!!:clap

:exactly: I also think that if there is any other Iron Man figure to own, aside from your favorite Red & Gold version, it's the Mark I.

This one is on my list, but I have to wait and see how the Rescue Cap plays out in terms of look and cost. Since these days I'm trying to buy two of each figure, it gets even more expensive quickly.

But, I will say that I'm very glad to see all these 2.0s coming up.
