i was always gonna pose this without the helmet/cowl, I love the headsculpt with a bit of expression to it for a change looks cool but the helmet also looks amazing what is everyone planning for this? plus i was thinking earlier how cool the shelf will look with the Avengers assembled in the film outfits, the hulk better be amazing
Good post and, I hope you re right.I do nt own Thor but I ll be looking to buy one and I hope he s got that angry expression.he s going to be a major player in this from what I can see.got my tickets today and I'm all set!!I'm of the opinion that the sculpt looks FANTASTIC, I can see Evans clear as day and it's very satisfying to get a sculpt that has something beyond a neutral expression.
I think Thor's sculpt is a bit underrated as it has a pretty good likeness, but is then spoilt somewhat by such a glum look (never looked like that in the movie - always either flushed and determined or smiling confidently) and sculpted hair that could have been better done.
I reckon we'll see all the big Avengers names with some emotion in their faces (this will be the sixth they have done of Tony Stark if you think about it!).
Definitely going to buy this! Only problem: November 2012 will mean April 2013

Star is a little undersized on the chest but man - what an amazing piece.
I thought the same as you, bud. I just knew it was helmetless all the way. But even with a good HS I still think I'm posing it with the helmet on. HT did it again! I'm blown away at the fact that it doesn't matter how CE looks in the movie, this figure came out looking awesome.

My first reaction was a bit of disappointment with the head sculpt without the mask. But to be fair this was only because I hoped to use the sculpt on the First Avenger figure like this.
But, it looks from the various trailers and pics from the Avengers so far that Cap does spend a lot of action time without his mask and so the expression on the Avengers Cap seems appropriate for that figure.
I think it looks like Evans- I see why some might not think it looks as much like him compared to the masked sculpt, but intense expressions like that can change the way we might perceive real people look a bit too. People can make some pretty crazy faces that distort how they look some.
So, I think the figure does look good- it certainly makes the best of what I think is a poor costume design. I think the figure would look great displayed. I do like BD shield.
I think in the end I might have to wait to see how much I like Cap in the Avengers movie before deciding to buy it. They may re-do his costume in the Captain America 2 movie too so I don't feel that this is necessarily the definitive modern movie Cap either. I am also still hoping for the USO Rescue Cap to come out so I can get the head sculpt I am looking for. The action expression on the Avengers Cap seems to leave room for still making the USO Rescue figure with its own distinctive sculpt.
I also don't think I can afford to put together the whole Avengers team, if I was planning too I think this Cap would be a must have. If I change my mind and find myself getting the whole team I would defiantly grab him. This Avengers Cap figure is pretty tempting in its own right though.
As for now my Marvel figures consists of Rami's Spider-man and First Avengers Cap and I am hoping to someday pick up an X-men Origin Wolverine (I wish they would re-release this). This way I have Spidey, an Avenger and hopefully someday an X-men to represent the Marvel movies on my shelves. However, if the Avengers Hulk figure looks bad-ass I might have to add him in too.
I love the Iron Man figures and Thor but don't have them and I know once I got a version of them I would feel the need to get the whole Avengers team- so right now I am trying to resist that urge. Great products like this new Avengers Cap figure makes it hard to resist I have to admit.

Well now that they made this it will be easy to make Thor and Black Widow since the are mostly the same as the previous release.

Wow! The costume and masked head looks so much better than the movie promo pictures! Love the accesories, but I wish the unmasked head didn't show his teeth. Other than that, not too sure if I wanna buy it, but for people who don't have the First Avenger figure, this is a better buy I think!

I'm fine with the sculpts, but what bothers me is the damn muscle body (I hate the arms!), and the bad crinkles in the abdomen. I know it's like that in real life, but it looks worse in the smaller scale.

I love the expression - I hope they give some expression to Thor and Black Widows head sculpts too - their previous figures looked bored as ____ and like they were watching paint dry.

I think this figure and both the heads look amazing and just like Evans, I'm so glad we aren't getting a neutral expression, the Thor figure has a really good likeness but the expression was very bland and that's where it got a lot of criticism, but know that we get this head sculpt showing emotion some people wan't it to have neutral expression?....
