Hmmmmmm......

Oh yeah! :rock

The video has shown how this will look in person and i'm happy with what i saw.

the only real question for me is do I pre-order off SS and pay retail +taxes, or do I wait for a member here to sell one, possibly running the risk of not being able to find one at all.

I really like what I see, and hopefully in hand he looks as good. Will gladly add him next to the first Thor and the growing Avengers figures. Thank god these are in 1/6 scale.....:)

Glad I bought the original one and saved for THOR2 version.

Agreed. This one, while great, still doesn't have enough changes to the design in comparison to the original to warrant an upgrade (that includes the accessories). I'd rather wait for Thor 2 version.

Please excuse me if this is common knowledge, but I've been thinking about how the sculpt looks really off in recent pics. I read recently about how camera lenses can distort an object if the camera is too close to the object. The best distance to take a photo of something small would be about six feet away with the camera zoomed in. Otherwise, you get warping and distortion.

Could this be why in hand pics look so different from the pics released a while back? All these guys' pictures are very professional looking so I assume that they know this already but its just a thought as to why it would look different. Maybe its just wishful thinking on my part? We'll know in a few months.

I don't think thats how cameras work at all.

I won't say definitively that is the cause but that is how cameras work. The closer you are to a subject with a standard lens, the more distortion you get.

Glad I sold my original THOR a few months back to fund this guy. Proportions, sculpt, detailing, etc. look TONS better than the first. Even the original chest plate thing looks so plastic-y compared to the detail of the new one. Nabbed a helmet off the 'Bay for $22 too. Maybe with some heat, it'll squeeze on this new sculpt. Otherwise he can just hold it or I'll rest it on the stand at his feet.

Until all the Avengers are assembled, I'll display him with Odin and Loki. Then maybe switch that up with a THOR 2 version.

Also depends on the lens you are using. This is an exaggerated example, but a wide lens and shooting real close to the subject is how you get this effect:

Aha, here is a good example:
