I think its funny that people keep comparing the sculpt to a likeness of DiCaprio...I don't see that AT ALL!!!! I see Triple H from the WWE though...:hi5:

I dont think the HS is scowling enough to be HHH...But I am one that can see Dicaprio in there...I think it's mainly around the eyes/brow...

However, like someone else said...It doesnt have to have a definate likeness to Chris for me to be happy...If it looks like Thor, and talks like Thor...It's Thor...lol....

My only things with the figure at this point would be maybe the high brow...And the arm articulation thing...

Matt

Actually stark is the same height as cap, about 6 foot, in his armor do compared to Thor he should be shorter.

Stark going from 5'8" to 6'4" is a big stretch. I'd be more likely to believe he can get to 6 foot.

You can't really use that clip from avengers to judge height. For one, they are not on a flat surface, like a hanger, they are in the woods. Hilly ground and all. In the scene where the thunder god first appears, standing in the plane, cap and stark are equal heights.

Maybe in the comic it's different but in the movie, not so much.

Thats true, Thor isn't obviously 6'6 like the comics, nor is he as massive so the statistic value of comic-likeness is gone with the only accurately proportioned one being the CGI Hulk. I would like to see them accurate as to the movie proportions next to each other for height though, which seems like with the new Thor and Cap they are exactly right.

I just pulled up the torso on my Iron Man and gives him 1/4 inch height increase, was thinking I wanted to get the new one but I don't think I will unless he has some really awesome extras.

You're wrong. This is how tall Rhodey becomes in the Mark II.

Stark in the Iron Man suit becomes way taller, you can even see in the video I posted he is taller than Thor. Also my MK VI towers above Captain America in my Detolf, and my Thor figure is the same height as Superman, and my Mark VI. This figure is going to be too bulky and too tall, he will look wrong next to my other figures. It will be another case like the Sideshow Darth Vader.

I wonder if the movie specs were carried over in the lower picture they all look pretty much proportioned

I respect your opinion but I think you are seeing something that is not there. With any CG character like IM or hulk the scale can be screwed to accommodate the scene. If the director wants to fit IM and Thor into the same scene he can adjust the scale of the CG character.

Granted he can also make cap and IM the same height in another scene.

Your pic is a promo image which is photoshopped for the best dynamic image so you can't trust the promo pics. View attachment 47116
Here is one that makes BW look the same height as the rest and we all know that's not true.

This shot makes hawkeye look taller than everybody because he is evening out the right side of the pic to balance Thor.

And another.

The Rhody video again is a CG body so for him to be that tall is preposterous which is why I assume they left it out of the movie.

As u said I respect your opinion and I'm not trying to get into a pissing contest with you but from what I see, Hot Toys scale is right on so I will continue to buy them without complaint.

In that pic cap is standing more off to the side and behind IM rather than right beside him. I don't know. I just don't think pepper is supposed to be 6'2"

I use actual movie images and you are using drawings put together. Gwyneth in heels is six foot if not more.

Still can't believe they're usin' the whole t800 body for Thor... That's just... so dumb...

Tho not as dumb as their body choice for The Boss.

I agree it does look like Cap is standing further back in that picture. If Iron man was 6'6 he should still be a goo bit taller than Pepper in that pic. I have a really great display so a hair won't matter here and there BUT I still want them as close as possible to movie heights.

Im sure if a person really looked closely he could find quite a few scale issues, I noticed it very obviously on the first Iron man when Obidiah was in the iron monger suit and was crushing the helmet, it looked way too big to me.

Here is a link to an interview I read.

Some highlights. You may be right but I just never thought it looked that tall in the movies. View attachment 47124

Shane Mahan, head honcho at Stan Winston Studio, filled us in with all the new details about Iron Man 2‘s new army of menaces, and Tony’s new armor. Plus, find out why no one could actually “be” Iron Man.

So can you fill us in on Iron Man’s suit? What are his stats? I read that in theory, it was supposed to weigh 600 pounds. How has that changed?

The trick to these kinds of things is, you have to present it in a way that feels the part, when actually it’s quite light. The suit has to feel like it’s being made out of metal. The height of the suit is 6 foot, 5 (inches), and 600 to 800 pounds has always been the number that we kicked around with the design team.

Ok. IM looks taller in this pick but not by that much. Maybe an inch or two but not by 5. View attachment 47125

He's 3 inches taller, because Cap is 6'1" Iron Man is around 6'4" the same as Thor, if not a bit taller.
That is why I am saying the new Thor looks too tall if you turn his head up straight. It might be why the sculpt looks too small for the body.
However it might just be the photo and Thor will be the same height, if that's the case then it's fine the way it is.

Big God > Skinny God. But yeah, best to get it right.

He's very athletic, but he's not Mr Universe.

I think I have said all there is to be said about this figure. If they fix it, that will be great, if they don't, then there is always the next version
