^ agree but what im saying is, if you're left with just these 2 options, this takes the cake. honestly i also don't care much about whether they get hemsworth's sculpt 100% accurate, all i want is a thor that SOMEHOW resembles that i grew up reading.

He's very athletic, but he's not Mr Universe.

The new version is cool but i'm happy with the first one.

I'll wait for this sleeveless Thor.

Another living proof of what I said in the "HT Loki" topic :lol

I think I have said all there is to be said about this figure.
If they fix it, that will be great, if they don't, then there is always the next version.
:goodpost: tho not gonna "leave the game" so quickly.

Not bothered too much on the height of the figure, as long as its taller than cap n ironman by small cm i'm fine with that, lets not hope ht don't do the "berserker" on this one

He's 3 inches taller, because Cap is 6'1" Iron Man is around 6'4" the same as Thor, if not a bit taller.
That is why I am saying the new Thor looks too tall if you turn his head up straight. It might be why the sculpt looks too small for the body.
However it might just be the photo and Thor will be the same height, if that's the case then it's fine the way it is.

It may just be a case of a longer neck. If you look at the pic of IM beside thor the tops of their arms are the same height.

Maybe the Thor head is not all the way on the body to give him a dynamic downward looking head pose.

Isn't hot toys 1/6 scale? How can they be off then? If you claim to be 1/6 scale it should be accurate then!

If you were going to make everything screen accurate, each body would need to be crafted and proportioned to each actor. Personally I like the larger body. Hemsworth is not that big but Thor should be. These are superheroes so they should look a bit larger than life.

The trouble is that they (HT) only have a certain number of body-blanks that they can use for the figures. Unless they are going to come up with a brand new body, like they did with the Christopher Reeve SUPERMAN figure.

What they've got is what they've got, with only a little room for variation without starting completely from scratch.

:exactly:

not to mention that it'll drive the cost up for each figure. And the cost is high enough for me as it is

And the difference that everyone is mentioning about height is probably an inch or less.

Unless you are using your Hot Toys for a stop action film, is it that important to worry about what may realistically be a half an inch? And I know some will say

THESE ARE $200+ COLECTIBLES. I EXPECT THEM AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE.

And as much as I'd love that too, I simply think the reality of needing to use molds and bodies for more than one figure to keep the costs where they currently are is a must. Thats why the Hulk and Sully are going to be more expensive.

Which body are you guys saying they're using? It's certainly not the Arnold body, the shape is different.

Well, yes, in theory that is exactly as it should be, they should be larger than life and have massively developed pecs and delts' but with tiny waists...

...and every single man jack of them would have to be a totally separate and fully custom sculpt, that you could only ever use for that one single figure. That would be business suicide. The cost of producing a custom, disposable, one shot body every time - which would not be suitable for any thing else - for each and every single new figure made/planned, would push production costs (and so therefore retail costs) to a ridiculous level that only people with names like Jagger, Trump, Branson and Getty would be able to afford.

So there is no choice but to introduce workable compromises and select the best body you have to fit the figure you are making. It is not perfect but it is as good as we can realistically expect, really.

WOW I have just seen Loki, definitely getting that as it looks just like the actor. So if they can make Loki look so good nothing is stopping them from fixing this. However we shall see.

I hope they at least correct the size of the forehead. As an artist myself that is the sort of thing that should be very obvious and easily corrected. Overall though I like this version much more than the previous figure.

You guys think someone important at Hot Toys actually reads all our topics/posts about their figures? I don't recall them ever mentioning these forums before, but if I remember correctly... They at least went back and tried to improve several headsculpts before release due to fans being unhappy.

I suppose we just have to post to their facebook page or in as many places as possible. I'm sure if we're unhappy with Thor, fans all over the world are as well. We can only hope that given the time frame they have to improve Thor that they actually will.

Does anybody know anything about these arms on eBay?

Trying to find out if you can slip these over a set of TT arms and if they will bend.
