That black pad is just like for grip, in a artbook of the movie it had still photos and one pic was from a scene not in the movie of him developing the web shooters and there was like thin metal strips that extend out to the middle lower palm which is like the trigger mechanism its underneath the glove when he is in his costume.

Yup. Exactly what I saw in the behind the scenes on the blu ray.

ah I see...haven't got around to watching the extras yet. Thanks for that

So torn on this figure. I LOVED the movie and that's the main driving force behind wanting this figure but I kinda feel like I need to see some in hand pics before I jump, right now he's a great figure but "off" just enough at that price range to keep me from pre-ordering. If they can get him down right he could look amazing (no pun intended) posed with the Avengers or even just the Hulk!

I'll be having mine with the Avengers as well, Peter Parker will be with the other figures though

This guy isn't perfect, but with all the talk of a costume change in TASM 2, there is no way I'm gonna miss out on this guy. :lecture
I loved this film so much!

:hi5:
Nice avatar Nova! That is a great read. I wish somewhere besides DisneyStore stocked his new Marvel Select figure, i'd buy it in a heart beat! :lol

I know what you mean, but I think when the in hand pics start dropping, its going to be impressive. Keep the faith. :wink1:

The one I saw was one they were selling in the movie theaters in Japan while the movie was out, it had very nice photos in it it was just all in Japanese I wish I wouldve picked one up.

Yeah, I was very scepticle about Flash having no legs, but that kinda adds to the character. I think it a really cool addition that Venom can be somewhat of a good guy for a small while before going completely evil. I like how they set the story when he goes 1-on-1 with Spidey and Flash shines through to save Betty. Really great.
I really felt for Flash amidst all the drama involving his father swell. Great stuff!

Not sure about that

These two screencaps are from the scenes leading up to the climax of the movie. At first I thought that the chrome ones are for hero shots and the blue plasticy ones for stunts but after I watched the movie just for the webshooter bits :cuckoo: I don't know what to think.

I reckon it's blue with chrome on the sides... or maybe they're entirely in chrome and the blue is from the environment HDRI on the CG shots (evening ergo bluish)... or it's chromy blue? :cuckoo:

EDIT: Don't know what to believe:

But that clockwork ornament on the webshooter might be a tall order even for HT to make, eh?

EDIT 2: Solved it! It's basically chrome like a wristwatch and then painted blue, which is why under different lighting conditions the chrome might still pop up due to its reflective nature. This pic explains it:

His left hand web shooter looks chrome-ish and yet the one on his right hand looks blue. So, in the end, this is something HT CAN do. Just paint it with the same coat as the eyes, that'll do I reckon.

RAMBLE = OFF

The Web actually looks like how Todd MacFarlane drew them in the comic books. Awesome detail and homage to the comic books.

Judging by HTs track record. Final products tend to end up better than most of their prototypes. I'm guessing (hoping) this is the case with the figure.

The first Spider-Man figure is a prime example.
