What is with all the f#%&ing moaning in this thread? Jesus!

I can't believe some of you donkeys would actually prefer to see electro running around on screen in a green and yellow suit. And so what if he is black? Are we all a bunch of racist hill billies now?

Here is a quick summary:

Raimis movies = Cheesy, over CGI'ed, Gimmicky, Poor acting!

Webb's movies = Darker, more realistic/serious, Truer to the comics, Brilliant acting!

Like it or not ASM suit was original in it's design. The new suit is more inline with the classic look so obviously it will look similar to the Raimi suit, but it is not the Raimi suit and still looks 100x better.

Rami movies were pretty good. not great, but good.

Amazing spider man.... was lacking. Becuase it was made by acountants.

BOTH could be trumped by spider-man reverting to Marvel studios.

And Miles Morales In ultimate Spider man comics, Figgin AWESOME !
I don't care one way or the other about the skincolor of the guy in tights, so long as it's a good story, which properly represents the material it's derived from.


As for the costumes..

ASM costume was dopey. Spalding man was a bad design. and it didn't look like itw was something peter could have made at home.

Well.. his ultimate costume, or something liek it is what we're probobly gonna get by the end of the film.

On the concept of grounded in reality..

Guy gets bit by radioactive spider in reality He gets cancer. Not Super powers.

It's a comic book super-powered, super-science, super-hero movie. Reality went out the window on page 2.

Batman was Grimdark Grimdark Grimdark grimdark. And it was sucsessful. Lets Make spider-man Grimdark too!

Also, in a story grounded in reality, a guy dosn't decide to take over the world " just becuase".

It's a fun movie while you're watching it... but after the fact, under serious scrutiny, it starts to fall apart.

Spidey is in the right hands with Sony. They've got a 3/4 track record of good flicks, Marvel has a 4/7.

that has more to do with how much freedom the screenwriter and directorr were given, and not being held to the "marvel standard"

IF they had been, i bet you would have gotten " a bunch of shield guys running around" and a better story. or at the VERY LEAST

I always laugh at Marvel/DC guys crying about waiting time.

I first got interested about 1/6 and collecting period in 2011... after seeing the 1/6 General Grievous from pictures taken at SDCC. 2 years later... and no news.

Not Really. the Director and script writer were more or less given free reign to do whatever they wanted with the movie. they've been talking about it in interviews for months. Becuase Iron Man 3 falls between the end of phase one, and before the begening of phase 2, they had virtualy no restricions, and marvel was mostly hands off. They kept going on and on about how shocked they were with how much freedom marvel was giving them.
