I really like the figure and the costume, it looks cool to me. It captures the look of spiderman, gives it a more modern look and has that thin build that works well for how flexible this guy is. I will always prefer classic spiderman but I am willing to embrase this new look too. As for the web shooter I like them and never really like the fact that in the other films they just came out of his wrists, the webshooter is cool to me because it shows parkers genius, and also it makes him more belivable, I know its all just fanasy but webs magically coming out of his wrist seem silly, the webshooters makes more sence.

Do ANY of you dumb kids remember the First SM figure reveal pics with hard boots? Different color shade webbing? ETC. ETC. It wasn't that long ago, but i know your ADD attention span can't keep up so.......

Its true there are alot of whinners here, but it don't bother me. I like the figure and will buy myself, but everyone is entitled to there own opinion. It is true to that hot toys almost always fixes any issues from prototype to release, but the complaining can sometimes help this process along so it does have its place. I don't care it someone else buys this or not, I will get two likely because I am a hugh spidy fan and I like what I see. I would have liked a diorama base or a backpack or maybe a skateboard included to sweetin the deal but I am glad that at least we got the peter parker head which is the most important inclusion.

Pretty much it. My animus towards this movie has more to do with it being a rushed reboot. The web shooters are a cool throwback, but if the fruit rollup gloves and the stripey dodgeball costume is supposed to be somehow better than the first three films, I'm not seeing it. The Killer Croc face on Lizard is kind of lame too.
Hopefully the movie will find a way to compensate for it.

What kind of terrible childhood did you grow up in? Everyone grew up watching the animated series with the mechanical shooters.

I'm hoping the in-hand pics change my mind, but as it stands, HT rushed this figure. It really could use some more work.

I find little use of bickering about it now.
Absouletely, i'm a die-hard Spidey fan and love this suit as it's new and bold while retaining the key classic elements

Just doesn't look right
Trying to figure out why this figure doesn't look right, and a couple things stood out to me. For one, they completely missed the black wash that covers the red area in the film, a very prominent feature of the new suit design. Not only does this give it more depth but it makes the colors appear deeper; the red and blue Hot Toys used seems too bright and vibrant. It also makes the black lines running through the red less prominent compared to the toy where they stand out like a sore thumb.
Lastly, I think the shape and finish of the eyes on the figure just looks sloppy. Yes they have an orange tint in some shots, but those are few and far between. And as someone else pointed out, the black matte frame around the eyes is actually a very deep metallic and reflective blue.
