because that sandman base is cheap as hell, have you held it? it's hollow and has no real heft to it. I'll give hot toys credit on that one for not jacking up the price as it's the best value buy I've ever had with them but the base was still cheaply made.

I don't agree that the price should be over 200 but it's been that way with hot toys and comic film figures that have actors likeness. it's consistent with what they put out, just wish it had a bit more to justify the price, like a kick ass base.

I agree 100%.

I like the look of the costume, it's a nice new look, something different.

I don't get the whining about the orange lenses, I picked up the video game yesterday and the Spidey pic on front had orange lenses?

Can't wait to see the movie.

:dunno It was made cheaply, so they didn't have to jack up the price. That's how we got the good deal, we can't have it both ways.

It'd be nice if we got a cheap inclusion that served a purpose and related to the movie with this Spidey too.

:clap:clap

As always the same negative people are taking over the threads!! Complaining about the price. They can save their $50 dollars and then wait till another figure is announced and spend $300 on that one..lol:rotfl:rotfl

These people will never learn that prices go up and the world is ever changing. :slap

Also this will not be out till early next year for sure and as always HT will polish everything up by then.

Really? Where is that a fact? Tell that to the millions of people here who bought houses 6 years ago and they are going for half the price now. Video games have been consistently at $60 price tag for the past 10 years or so and technology has grown exponentially since then. These prices are rising like they are in dog years..I dont care how you try and defend it...its ridiculous and it will come back to bite all of these companies in their plastic ***** sooner than they may want to deal with.

Here is another Fact-

The Dollar has been devalued for years, which creates an Inflationary price (creating higher prices and costs to produce goods). The Dollar has lost its buying power and it is still steadily in decline.

"The price of gas hasn't risen at all since 1964. You can still buy a gallon of gas for two silver dimes."

Two silver dimes in 1964 was 20 cents...

those Two 'Silver' dimes 'today' will buy you the same gallon of gas. ;)

As the Dollar continues its decline, expect to continue to pay higher prices for our beloved Sideshow and Hot Toys figures..

Has anyone got a comparitive list of prices by retailer?

I recall somebody saying a store was $184.99 which is $20 cheaper than Sideshow AND LOWER than the $189.99 people were expecting.

I'd be happy if they just added some kind of semi reflective lens to it. I liked what Calcifer did to the costume on his image but I'd be happy if they just toned down the colors. I may even just muck it up a bit when I get it.

Actually now that I think about it, I remember seeing a sticker you can get for windows and they have a similar reflective finish. Maybe I'll look into that if HT doesn't :(

Film critics are inept.

and paid.:monkey1

The answer is clear, we must base our currency on Hot Toys. :lecture

Guy I've seen the movie 2x here in Singapore. Once in an imax theater n the lenses are somewhat yellow.

Alter Ego and Cornerstore Comics: $184.99

BBTS: $189.99

Cotswold Collectibles: $194.99

Sideshow: $204.99

And that's all I got right now

Re: Just doesn't look right

Trying to figure out why this figure doesn't look right, and a couple things stood out to me. For one, they completely missed the black wash that covers the red area in the film, a very prominent feature of the new suit design. Not only does this give it more depth but it makes the colors appear deeper; the red and blue Hot Toys used seems too bright and vibrant. It also makes the black lines running through the red less prominent compared to the toy where they stand out like a sore thumb.

Lastly, I think the shape and finish of the eyes on the figure just looks sloppy. Yes they have an orange tint in some shots, but those are few and far between. And as someone else pointed out, the black matte frame around the eyes is actually a very deep metallic and reflective blue.

:goodpost: I had not noticed the difference until your post. I'm cool with the bright red and blue if they don't change it, because that is SM's color scheme at the end of day. But, to your point, the black wash would make it more movie accurate.
