Oh snap, that awesome Calcifer! Though that's more dirty than just shaded, but that's the right idea. I'm sure Hot Toys will come through in the end. I'll enjoy it regardless.

I agree, should look more like this.

Don't mind the crude photo manip, I threw that together very fast.

I'll take that one, Calcifer. I can't stand the turn signal eyes on HT's proto.

^^^ that's exactly what i mean't regarding the colours on the suit

If HT produce the production model like this then i'd be tempted to pick it up

I reckon we'll see a lot of Peter Parker kit bash's that'll look pretty cool

That's actually the thing about this figure i'm most excited for, seeing what creative folk can do with it

Well, maybe it's a comic book, but doesn't mean Raimi's solution for the webs wasn't the better one. The suit looks gay, it's not Hot Toys fault, heck, it's gay by itself, Hot Toys replicates it very well, but it's still a stupid looking suit. Chris Nolan took some liberties with the Batman license too, and that's why we love it.

Comic's and films are different things, and yes a (genious, you forgot that) billionaire making a mechanical armored suit doesn't seem all that far-fetched to me, compared to a student making a very very sophisticated superhero costume that shoots WEB that can hold CARS in the air, in secret, in his own room. <<

And im not pissing on HT here, don't know where you got that from.
Who's this we? The bat suit is nothing special either infact it's the laziest rendition of the suit I've ever seen. Peters not just a kid he's a genius. You act as if he's some stoner who randomly put things together from scratch.

Thanks Star puffs, that made me laugh. Swearing in Dutch! What a multi-lingual bunch we are :)

Seriously though, why are there so many people on here moaning about a figure they are claiming that they will not buy? What's the point. You cannot make a stronger statement than actually not buying it, what more can you possibly add?

Ha. Good picking up on that. I figured it was a way to say what I thought to someoone in the Netherlands with minimal risk of an infraction. I really do speak Dutch.

Complaining has its place as a form of feedback. I get ticked when it has some uncalled for element, like using 'gay' as a pejorative, or just goes on and on, like a handful of people moaning month after month about many of the HT Avengers sculpts.

Edit: This costume has really grown on me, I will get this figure if I like the film.

:goodpost:

Alo they may use Bendis' origin, where Peter merely finishes work his father, a PhD research scientist, started on a super elastic adhesive. I still shows great intelligence, possibly genius, but adds some extra plausibility.

Film getting very mixed reviews.....this may be a shelf sitter for a long time...
the price is ridiculous for this so I'll get it later on for $150..

Films getting positive reviews almost everywhere. Dunno where the hell you're getting your info!:cuckoo:

do people realize this is so expensive because of the Andrew Garfield head sculpt? look at the first avenger figure, 150$, because it didn't come with a chris evans head sculpt. Avengers captain america, same price as spider-man here. If the figure didn't come with a head sculpt we'd most likely be seeing a much cheaper figure. But then would people complain we don't have a head sculpt? I wouldn't but that's just cuz I like my spider-man wearing his mask.

If this is the case, how do you justify the price of the Black suit Spiderman being $5 more than this figure on SS which has the Sandman display base and the McGuire HS?

Maybe he just meant "geigh"?

In all seriousness, let's not get too serious.

because that sandman base is cheap as hell, have you held it? it's hollow and has no real heft to it. I'll give hot toys credit on that one for not jacking up the price as it's the best value buy I've ever had with them but the base was still cheaply made.

I don't agree that the price should be over 200 but it's been that way with hot toys and comic film figures that have actors likeness. it's consistent with what they put out, just wish it had a bit more to justify the price, like a kick ass base.
