They are pale mirrored gold. The are highly reflective (like the Medi's) so the look different depending on their environment and what's reflected in them. But they are gold.

yeppp i understands that but i dont think these eyes are. i think its yellow and not reflective. lets see the final photo if it turns out to be good :)

It's like the hysteria with Luke Skywalker all over again, but I have to say it doesn't look like Hot Toys have improved anything with this figure but we shall see. The Headsculpt was the swaying factor for me so a little disappointed if it does look that bad.

You know it cracks me up when people (not refering to your post) keep bringing up those Skywalker pics as if they weren't real, or misleading.
I have 3 of those sets, and unless there is something wrong with my eyes those first pics show exactly what we got in the box, weird PERS, bad stitching, but they didn't highlight the strengths of the figure for sure.

I guess it comes down to a persons individual ability to make sense of what they are looking at, distinguish between unflattering lighting and angle as opposed to what the figure actually looks like. I feel I have seen the ASM HT figure now. Sure probably not at it's best, but already I can clearly see what my issues with it are. The head sculpt, the shoulders and sections of the costume.

You can hide these things in a good photo, but they are still there.

Derpy DX 12 Batman is still derpy, Flamenco DX Indy is still horrible, and Googly Team America puppet Luke Skywalker still looks like those first pics.
IMHO. :lol

agreed rorywan. bane comes to mind as one that to me looked perfect and everyone trashed it. it came out the exact same and now hes a hot item and everyone loves it. sure the boots and pants coul be a bit better but by no means ruins the figure. im bummed at what im seeing with this garfield head. its been changed and for the worse i fear. oh well. just another day in the collecting world

:lecture Pretty much nailed it.
As you said, I think OMG's pics will highlight the strengths of the figure. But bad picture or not, I have yet to see from proto to now about the body looking great, not really liking the body.
I think the biggest strength of this figure is that it will be more "Pose Friendly" compared to Medicom's which is horrible when posed.
Medicom looks great, but only on a Heroic/Stoic standing pose.
Any dynamic pose and the suit show's its limits and bundles horribly.

So I think the biggest pro to this figure is the suit material.
Also, my other concern about this figure is actually the masked head itself, the proto looked horrible and cartoonish...it looks like they may have fixed it on these newer shots, but I can't tell how much better cause its more of a side view.

Exactly, the indy sucked *****, Luke was nice but I dont think the likeness is great and eyes have be positioned right cause most of the time, it looks googly. It can be hidden well when you have him looking to the side and slightly up.

And DX12 Batman, probably one of my most modded figure.
When I first received it, as a stock, I came soooo close to selling it and make a Medix version. Probably my most underwhelming experience ever opening the box and seeing the figure. I was seriously gutted.
Fortunately, its just a matter of heavily modding it.
Heavily modded though, its an Outstanding figure.

Pics look good to me- just crappy camera and lighting- you can make any HT figure look alot poorer that way. Actually looking forward to this figure- had no interest before but Spidey is a cool character...

I've seen pics of the DX12 mods, and yes. It is outstanding.

But I don't have the time others have, and I'm sure others agree. We shouldn't have to do any mods on a $200+ figure, ever.

I think overwhelming majority shares this sentiment.
To give credit to these developers whether Hot Toys or Enterbay, many times they do put out a great great figure.
Of course, they're not gonna be perfect, so it just depends on how good the figure is to your eyes.
Some will be happy even when its stock, some are not gonna be happy unless some issues are fixed.
In the dx12, many, like myself, needed a lot of those issues fixed for the figure to be great in our eyes.
Some figures need little to no mods.

Bane, I was almost sure I would need to do several mods to it, but once I had it in hand, I was pleasantly surprised that on things that I thought it may require mods when I saw the pics, they end up not bugging me at all once I had it in hand.

And the thing is, there were a lot of concerns for the dx12 in pics which did show up once it was in hand.
And much like dx12, there's lot of concerns for this figure that we are seeing.

Agreed. I've modded the hell out of all of them too. Bats especially can be majorly improved. Out of the box though, they were just as bad as the "first pics" that everyone said to ignore.
:lol

Imagine the excitement when everyone who over reacted to those leaked images realizes that they over reacted to those leaded images. :wave:dunno

Its not like it doesn't happen with every figure.

I don't think anyone in here over reacted to the first pics of this figure. Most people have been waiting a very long time for this, it was hardly a celebratory wow reveal?

Disappointing pictures of disappointing production figure are disappointing.
:lol

Who in HT got this stupid idea!!:gah:!! UGLY neck piece... Hope it's removeable. I prefer the prototype version.

And the body also UGLY...HT took so long time & this is what we got. :slap

Canceled.

The fabric to hard plastic divide always makes something look like a cheap toy.

Cancelled, HELL NO! I always wanted a high-end figure of Jean-Ralphio from Parks & Rec!

jeanralphio-five.gif

wow...they just need to say sorry for this and then make it go away. They can make it up to us on the second movie with something special.

I don't mean to but :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl WOW that's bad

Looks awful. I can't believe they asked which is better on fb

It barely even looks like him anymore. At least, not to me.

Not sure even the mighty OMG can save this one...

:goodpost: agreed, this is a surefire cancel to me.

WTF have they done to the head sculpt? There is no Garfield resembelance now at all, in fact it looks like a young Charlie Sheen (definitely not winning)

This has got to be the worst figure Hot Toys has ever put out, especially after all the delays!

No way on this earth is OMG's photo's going to save this, everything looks terrible, the suit, the sculpt. I think they should just cancel the figure now and focus on ASM2.

I can't justify paying that kinda money for this, so I think sadly I might have to cancel. Do you get deposits back?

Psssssshhhhhh might as well wait for the new spiderman costume then.

How anyone can say the headsculpt is ok is beyond me, it bears no resembelance to Andrew Garfield whatsoever.

If you showed that to 100 people without the Spider-man body as a give away, I don't reckon a single one of those people would say Andrew Garfield.

The proto had some few minor errors, but now it's like they redone the whole headsculpt based on a cheap Hasbro toy.

I don't think the second figure is Hot Toys. They couldn't go that far backward from looking like the actor to (relatively speaking) making it look like a Ken doll.

It looks like he's got the mumps!

This is laughably bad. Medi wins.

I need OMG pics quick. My interest in this figure is fading rapidly.

Right. No over reacting here.

I look forward to having it in hands. I'm sure I'll like it as much as all the other HT's I have.
