Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

This is what I expected, I don't know why anyone expected him to be any cheaper. I think it's fair. It's a great looking figure, a great pack out, and it looks like they addressed many of the issues we had with past Iron Man figures. To each their own, but I'm all in with The Avengers and I'm happy so far.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Pass. HT has just crossed the threshold for me. Although he comes with a lot of extras, it just isn't worth it anymore.

The prices have gone up on a consistent basis (like every other announcement) and not even over a long period of time. Something had to give.

The price of the Hulk will be astronomical.

yea I might get him but will have to pass on the Hulk at this point, I don't even want to imagine what price they will put up for him, plus just too figures up on PO already as is

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

I just ordered from BBTS. No deposit required today and it was $10 cheaper than SSC. :yess:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

WOW
Even for the regular version that's still way too much.
I hope this isn't going to be the trend now for HT figures.
I know they're expensive but this is crazy.

I tend to order a lot of their figures, but right now the prices are getting out of control. I know this is a new version of IM and they're always expensive but I'm just wondering what justifies this huge price bump.

I mean for this much money it makes sense to just buy the Tumbler or Bat pod instead!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

I've held off on many Iron Mans waiting for this one so the price doesn't both me as much. I'm sure there are legitimate business reasons behind it, right? Toy prices are going up everywhere, not just with Hot Toys and Sideshow.

It definitely looks to be the best one yet. The wait until next March will be a long one.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Preordered the EX and used my points on him, so brought the price down a bit. I don't see any problem paying a bit for the EX - will be awesome!

no offense but fair?

I paid 180 not even 3 months ago for the Mark VI exculsive with free shipping. This figure is 70 dollars ( plus shipping) more with a few battle damge parts and a wrose head sculpt. How is that at all fair?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Will order eventually but did they get Robert Downey's cousin for this hs WTF ? I'm very happy with my mark 6 hs that looks like Tony this one looks like Tony had plastic surgery hs ...Just can't believe that hs sorry The armor looks good tho...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Are you talking about the Avengers reissued MK6 that came with the MK4 headsculpt? If so, I think that one looks the least like Tony compared to the Mech Test, MKI 2.0, and this Mk7

Well for one, it was $190 retail and not $180. It was put up for sale two years ago not three months ago so your comparison is not a fair one.

Yeah, $190 (also with no free shipping) for a figure that's seeing it's third release and was packaged with very little accessories vs a $250 figure that is all new and has a lot of accessories. People so quickly forget how much new sculpting and tooling costs, especially when you're taking about a figure that is using an old head sculpt vs a figure with a new head sculpt. I'm so sick of people complaining about the prices of things, it's the world we live in, prices go up. If you don't like it say your peace and move along.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

I have FINALLY got the first post updated with the proper MMS number and the specs! Yay! :blissy

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

guys it is simple due to one thing: demand. people go crazy for iron mans specially the mark 7 and the avengers fever.
that is all there is to this price increase.
look at bane vs Hwkeye or Nick fury, then look at loki... a never seen before figure.unlike caps or Thor or im lol and really sought after by fans..boom you get your $225 for it lol. now a hero like im whom is more likely to be more fan fav and you get your mark 7 price eXplanation

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

As a collector I realize many of these items are made out of some type of oil based material (i.e. plastic) and as the cost goes up at the pump so will the price on these items. Just something I've accepted, not necessarily a good thing but until I strike oil in my backyard I'll have to accept the price increase. Just fortunate to have an income that allows for this.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

The other big factor in increased costs is labor. Labor is going up by leaps and bounds in China.

I'm talking about the Avengers exculsive Mark VI I got from Sideshow for 190 (correction) back in April
