Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

I'd gladly pay the NRD but the thing thats putting me off all these $250's, is $275 = £175 then the £40 to £50 above that for import fees.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Good points about the exclusive. Unfortunately placed my order at SSC already. NRD locks me in... oh well.

I think the only place they showed the hologram of the Mk VII was in Tony's heads-up display in the Mk VI suit when Jarvis was telling him it was not complete. He was on his way back to Stark Tower and met up with Loki. Yes I'm a nerd for remembering all of that.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

They'll charge $250 for this and then charge the same for a less in demand character and not thus not make enough as they could have from that because of foolishly concludiding people will pay the same for figures and not take into account the particular consumerbase :lecture

Oh my god! jdeezy75, thank you for ruining that. I wish people would keep film related stuff to film related threads. When some haven't seen it yet.

Your on a forum discussing 1/6 action figures we pretty much already knew you are a nerd like the rest of us :).

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

This should be $200 or $225 tops. Part of me would want to buy for the sake of completion, and because I know the aftermarket prices are higher which I will never pay, but I have too much ordered for that time frame. This might be the end of HT IM for me.

I think I'm inclined to agree. If we're looking at 2 to 3 new suits introduced in Iron Man 3 and then another 1 or 2 in Avengers 2 then I'm going to be inclined to abandon the idea of a "complete" Hall of Armor. I'm sure there will be way too many other licenses that I'll want to suck my money up. Heck, Batman and Joker DX 3.0's need some sucker to buy right? Plus those inevitable 1:2 scale figures will be hard to resist! :lol

Serious? After being out for 4 months now he probably thought anyone in this Topic would have seen it by now.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Since this already includes battle damage, I don't know what else they could add to it. Besides the pod armor

Maybe instead of DX MK7 they could make DX Tony in casual clothes and a diorama base of the broken window he was thrown out of, with a functional Armor pod that could open up and semi wrap around the figure, to recreate the falling scene.

Too bad the pod armor wasn't the exclusive. :monkey2

SS just put up the Mark VII for sale EX: 249.99

https://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=9018971

Ordered! Thanks for the head's up! :yess:

This is what I expected, I don't know why anyone expected him to be any cheaper. I think it's fair. It's a great looking figure, a great pack out, and it looks like they addressed many of the issues we had with past Iron Man figures. To each their own, but I'm all in with The Avengers and I'm happy so far.

Love the Avengers, just wish the price was a little cheaper. But I too expected to see this after seeing the price for TDKR Batman figure. :dunno

I'm starting to think Tumbler and Hulk will share the same price.

Ouch. You'll probably be right. :slap

Pre-ordered. Love me that Flex-pay.

Me too.

250 is cheap. I ordered two, one to throw away cause its so cheap. Might get another to run over with my car.

:lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

So expensive, but it's a relief that this figure comes for the next year, I can breath a just a bit.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

$249 plus shipping? No thanks. If it were made of metal, sure. But knowing that it's going to be the same frail, cheap feeling plastic that the past Mark releases were, no way.

By the time I pay taxes and shipping it would be almost $300 for me.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Diecast stuff in my experience tends to be more fragile in a way. The added weight puts a lot more strain on things like joints and given this isn't heat treated carbon steel we're dealing with but some sort of cheap base metal it's soft and prone to warping and breaking. You also tend to have a lot more paint chipping (and even rust) and you're limited in detail. I don't even know if it's possible to do the level of detail on the Hot Toys stuff in diecast.

MK VI should be here by Wednesday-- Stark's arsenal is definitely growing.

I FP it as well. Makes it a bit easier with what's still to come from middle-earth
