Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

wow!!
wonder what category i fall into?
I love the figures and love what HT do with such small scaled movie character.I dont dis them or their figures and since my wife and i had our first child a yr and a half ago,i had to sell ALL my HT figures to make ends meet.
But now that the dust has settled,i started up again and just get them when i can afford too...Flex pay is also my saviour now that i have just started using it.
I guess im in the group that appreciated the awesomeness of both Sideshow and HT...i know i cannot make these figures myself so......what is not to love?

Yup because categorizing and making sweeping generalizations about people always settles differences. And is of course, light hearted.

Gotta love this forum.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Im fine with the price, im just disappointed with the choice of exclusive item
A holo stark tower would have been nicer

Yeah the tiny clear Mk VII figure does NOTHING for me........

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Inaccuracy issues that HT should be able to solve rather easily:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

I cant find the link. Does anyone have it?:stick

Keep in mind its the same price as the exclusive. You may want to consider PO from the BBTS to save a few bucks. Or just order the Ex. from SS.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

perhaps there is method in their madness with all these Holo figures...perhaps they are making something to use them with rather than the bare arms/gauntlets etc etc.

I categorized everyone. And I have no interest in trying to settle any differences. THAT IMPOSSIBLE! I don't know anyone here personally, so I wouldn't begin to put any one member in any category. I didn't point a finger at anyone. AGAIN, I am sorry if my rant is offensive, but thats how I see things.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

i dont see anyone on here as offensive as long as they can justify themselves reasonably...

I DO see a lot of stubborness...lol

you cant go by a lot of the renders you see online. they are inaccurate to the final model used in the movie. this is why you see so many MK VII toys with those silver triangle parts on the collar bone area that isnt present in the movie.
they are early legacy effects or promotional renders that don't reflect the final version.

a better representation would be to watch the final trailer for the movie and pause during the round-a-bout shot. you get the whole back of ironman in view as it pans around.

I think it's not necessary to offend every single time people who complains about whatever situation is, if they want to buy figures... mehhh, if they don't want to buy the figure because of 'x' or 'y' reason... mehh, if they can afford them or not... meehh, not my life, not my money, not my problem, they can say or write whatever they want :D

So, this figure looks promising and I always wanted an Iron Man, I'll buy it probably almost it is realeased.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

$249.99!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please DONT tell me people can justify this price!

How ON EARTH can the price jump up SO much!

The Avengers Mark VI (Which i missed out on!) was ONLY $189.99!
So it cant be the avengers license right?
So how do they justify the extra $60 price hike?
oh gee, a couple of extra armour panels?! yeah right!

This has completely gotten to the stage of ludicrous!

And you can all sit there and say 'dont like the price dont buy it'. yeah well, with ____ like this Sideshow/Hot Toys is not only losing the sale for this item but for all future sales!

When will it stop? How much will the HULK be? $349.99?

How much will the next Iron man be? $299.99?

Im officially priced out of my love of this hobby.
Seriously pissed off!

Looking at SOME of the previous releases:

Mark IV $179.99
Mark V $209.99
Mark VI $214.99
Mark I 2.0 (not even out yet) $219.99
Mark VI Avengers $189.99
Mark VII $249.99!!

So tell me, how much more a complex design is the Mark VII over the Mark I 2.0 to make the price jump up $250??!!

Thanx for nothing SS/HT's! :pfft:

Want to know the funny part. We're still not near breaking point if you go by the posts here. "I don't care. Bought!" :rotfl

I'd love to be in Hot Toys meetings when they price these things. At this point I'm pretty sure they are spinning a wheel or just pulling numbers straight out of a hat.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Orders from SS/HT to do this???????

This one has an exclusive for one thing. And they don't do it with every HT release.

Edit: AlterEgo has the non-exclusive for $224, but you have to pay a NFD as well.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Well what are you (the collector) supposed to do?

You want the figure, there is only one HT, they set the price and make the figure.

You ether buy it or don't. Complaining about the price is not going to accomplish anything, and I don't think HT is going to listen.

It's sucks, but let's be thankful right now, because this time next year a new Iron Man from HT will be $350.

Which is what I find with the price discussion interesting. How much is too much for everyone? When will the market correct itself with these? If ever.

I honestly don't think we'll see a figure under $200.00 next year.

Ah forget it... I"ll just be happy and thankful to be in Category 2.

The rendering by Legacy Effects is reflective of the final movie model (though more details on the 1:1 costume) and also used for the 1:2 scale SSC/LE statue....

HT should have gone all-the-way for accuracy.... then again they may save it for the 1/4 scale.
