I'm hoping to pick up the mk 1 2.0 and then this just the mk1 has so much more going on then this..I think it sucks price wise hot toys has us fans ,collectors over a barrell with price and knows this if all in for the AVENGERS group..You not gonna miss the main figure's HULK and IRONMAN hence the Price.....

The sudden price increases remind me of my other hobby, diecast collecting. 1:18 scale cars from companies like Autoart that were $80 in 2008 are now $150+



Manufacturing costs have gone up but the main reason for the increases is that with specialty brands like Autoart or Hot Toys they know their product will sell no matter what. They may lose 10% of buyers each time they have an increase but in the end they make more money.

IN FACT, for that reason, BBR models, now makes resins, and only in metal diecast the Enzo and F430.

But they are trying to do, a hybrid resin, with all compartments open. I have the 458 open in reserve, for a year, although I have my doubts

This argument has happened before and it will happen again, probably on the very next pre-order item revealed.

Hot Toys is going to charge what they are going to charge. All we can do as consumers is either buy it or don't.

For me, if they were cheaper, I'd have the whole Avengers team on pre-order right now without hesitation. Instead I have select ones only. My wallet has spoken.

I'm so with you on this...I truly wanted to own every Avengers figure, but these prices made me adjust that..so I'm only ordering the "main" 4 characters, and honestly, happy with that choice...Would rather have 1 figure than none IMO.

Last time I checked this was a discussion forum. How boring would threads be if they were just made up of people saying "OMG I love it, I POd" and those with (reasonable) complaints just were silent. This is not a forum for people who will love and buy everything SSC or HT puts out, this is a forum for people to discuss about these collectibles that give us joy but also make us suffer (well, at least some do). Everyone's entitled to an opinion, positive or negative. I thought we were past this.

But i think there are a lot of long time buyers out there who rightly or wrongly like to vent have have a little bit of a moan. It's a free forum.
I have commented that i don't like this headsculpt, but i feel i am entitled to express an opinion. It's fair to say that the headsculpt images(Which are about 12" high on my 24" monitor), perhaps make it look worse than it is. The 1" high actual piece might look better in real life.
I just try and ignore the people who seem to take my dislike of the new head as an insult against their very lives(And that's how it comes across, lol).
I say "The new headsculpt is rubbish" and one of the next posts will be "You are rubbish!!!!"(Or words to that effect).
Just an opinion.
I don't think the cost is too high either.
If you guys had any idea what this tooling costs, you would be AMAZED they are making these things available for a price that is so dirt cheap.

The price really did surprised me. The Mark VI, which was still in stock at ssc 8 months ago, was only 219 with free shipping, same as the mark V. It's okay to talk about hot toy's pricing. There are many people who's addicted to collecting and is willing to pay whatever hot toys want. These are the true fans of hot toys, and yet the company is "robbing" them for everything they have.

If anything, we are bashing hot toys for knowing this, and is taking advantage of the addicts who can't afford ramen noodles now because hot toys is squeezing even more out of them.

Hot toys wouldn't be so cocky with their pricing if you stop being an addict!

NRD is annoying but become more and more the norm. It won't be long until all orders have NRD.
