I'm also pretty certain that the way the flaps work on the HT figure are not the way they work in the film. It's possible Hot Toys was working from an older model.

The working Flaps are close enough... HT have taken liberties too, I suppose...

However HT has the same legacy effects render for reference during developement of Mk. VII... and yet they got it wrong. HT did do a major redesign for WarMachine... if they did not do a rather minor redesign for Mk. VII, it'll be disappointing.

Easy choice then. Don't buy it.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

There's always inaccuracies on these. For me it's just a matter of whether the whole still remains pleasing. In this case, I wouldn't mind if they fixed the inaccuracies but it won't bother me if they don't.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Yes the back is not accurate... I said that when they put out the first pics (the boosters aren't there) Still the best IM figure by far and the second best Avengers figure overall (all hail Loki for #1)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

I hate human characters. Well hate is a strong. I just don't love realistic looking humans as toys. Regardless of this I agree that Loki is the best of em. Such a great figure.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

the gold strips on the collar bone area not being accurate on the mark VI and war machines ankle armor being in "deployed mode"" bug me more then the back not being accurate on this. hopefully HT has a batter cover piece to fill the part needed, but its not going to bother me even if they don't.

the whole back of that figure is also still missing screw covers. its possible it just isn't finished properly in those shots and that missing bridge piece IS the screw cover for the screw placed where it should be

May/June is too much of a delay!

What ever happened to the idea that you put your most wanted product out before the holidays? They should have made the MkVII and the TDKR DX Batman top priorities.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Hot Toys always seems to end up releasing a lot of product in Jan/Feb. Or at least whenever I order anything from them it comes out in Jan/Feb.

First Iron Man figure for me. Can't wait for it. Glad I'm not up to speed on all the nuts and bolts of the armor like I am with Batman related things. Looks good to me :D

You have only monster figures then? Almost all of my action figures are human, whether Superheroes, GI JOE, or Star Wars. Actually Star Wars is an excellent example, because I generally don't like monster or creature figures. They must be really neat for me to buy one. I passed on Gammorean Guard because I'm not a fan of space piggies. Also, sculpting a human face accurately is the most challenging task of all sculpting, just like drawing. .

The big holidays in Asia/China is the Chinese New Year... and true to it, many figures are released then.... and CNY occurs in Jan/Feb.... and as dedguy mentioned he gets his figures around that time.

Most Chinese factories (and retail stores) are non-operating around CNY ... for a week or 2.

Absolutely AGREE! Way too long! :impatient:

Yeah I have monsters or things like Iron Man where there's no visible human face. I have a bunch of human characters but they're all stylized, not realistic. I like things that are designed and are abstracted from reality.

That's how I was with my collection, World War Robot from Ashley Wood and Iron Man :lol Rescue Cap is the first and only.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS185 - The Avengers: Iron Man MK VII

Has anyone purchased from Fanboy Collectibles? They have some good prices but I want to make sure they are legit. Thanks in advance!

It's now put the most unwanted figure out before the holidays

They know iron man and bats will sell out whenever they put him out :wink1:

Hence why they are release Fury and Hawkeye first...? Since they are the film's lesser characters? Makes sense...
