ok so that makes sense now in the iron man fade thread I put up a link to a customizer who used a silver base paint before he applied the red paint when he repainted his pink panties and I guess that is why the we only so far have seen this issue with the mark3,4,and 6.

I wonder if this issue will show up in the mark 5 ?

? :dunno

The Mark V doesn't have pink panties issue because the panties is plastic. This one also has plastic undies by the looks of it.

The Mark VII broken down completely. I REALLY want that table underneath it.

Holy moly! That would take me months to build if that were a model kit! :horror

Makes me appreciate the HT product even more upon seeing this! :1-1:

looks like they have the same inner working design for the knee's articulation on this guy as the mark iv and vi. not too happy to see those parts sitting in the pile.

so many broken/loose knees on those particular marks from the engineering used....i hope they at lease improved on it so its somewhat avoided.

So true.... they should have used metal joints (die-cast) for those knees..

technically it is "kinda" metal...but not in the way it would be most helpful

they use the screw as a pivot point for the upper connection brace. its technically a pretty clever way to use a part for a dual purpose. the problem is that screw is encased in a plastic housing (it has to be to connect the two parts of leg together) which will eventually just cracks and spins freely independent around screw causing loose floppy lower legs.

...but yah, sad to see its the same design yet again. i was hoping they would improve this seeing as it was a weak point of previous molds and a chance to rectify it.

...hell maybe they did and those parts are just there to make me wonder :lol

ill just be sure to handle him the same as my mark VI and IV and never really go to extremes when articulating the knees and cross my fingers while watching out for "are anyone's knees floppy?" posts starting to trickle out

I do know of the problem, I had to make 2 repairs and will be probably making a third (It's a good mental challenge though)... it's both a design and material usage problem.

Way too early to think about this but.. Do you think I should go for this or wait for a possible diecast version? This would be my first IM Hot Toys, but I did already preorder the Die Cast Mark 42 and IP..

I am in doubt about this because I fear the pink panties I keep reading about (Which hot toys said they fixed in the die cast versions) and because I am afraid it may look a bit out of place between my future die casts.. Any opinions?

I looked and my pre-order is from July of last year.

It would be great to think that we'll have in hand pics, or even have the actual figure itself, within the next few weeks.

Hot Toys is doing a thing on Facebook that says that they are showing the piecing process or something like that through May 5th, so maybe this Friday or next Monday we'll see some OMG pics.
