Dear mark VII, please come out already. the spot reserved for you in my collection is starting to feel rejected

That'd be a leave it in the box item for me. Don't like bases very much and especially so with diorama bases.

kinda agree...doesn't say ironman to me when i think of the avengers. it does say hulk, widow and cap though

Someone said they figured it was molded cheaply in vinyl and that's what it looks like to me. Dio bases can be cool (though the ideal base to me are the underlit rectangular bases that came with War Machine or the carbon-freezing floor that came with IG-88 and Boba-Fett) but I don't like that one at all.

I agree with that, but the open faceplate is a must for me...I'll just pick it off the bay

The open faceplate would not got go well with the battle damaged pieces of the mark vii IMO. The level of damage to the suit compared to the helmet are way off. Mark VII BD armor plates look like he just began the battle, while the BD Version Mark VII looks like the suit at the very end of the battle.

I would if I bought it, but I thought it was way overpriced at $295. This is the one to have in my opinion.

Oh, ok :) I thought you POed the BD version.

Talking about overpriced, I saw a thread in the WTB section with the person ready to shell out $450 for it. :monkey3 But then, who am I too judge, the guy is not from US and seems like a big IM fan. It would be a nice gesture if folks (on the forum) who snagged more than one help such collectors without charging an exorbitant price.

It's just added paint weathering and decals

My budget for mark 7 is now going to a good deal i found on mark4, i will still get mark 7 but might be later down the road

After seeing IM3 I really want this for some reason.. Thing is, this would be my first IM Hot Toys and I am sort of worried about the pink panties.. How bad is it really?

No one is sure whether the Mark VII even has the rubber undies or not, so it might not be an issue.

Having seen figures with this issue I can say it looks horrid. Very noticeable on the ones I've seen. Hopefully Hot Toys has corrected this but if you ask me they should send everyone who has a defective figure the improved undies.

So basically, this fading issue only exists if the undies are made out of rubber? So the possibility of it happening should be known shortly after release? If so I'll just wait till there are people who had it in hand.. :)

panties with the fading issues are not rubber, they are vinyl which is a form of soft plastic. the material tends to absorb portions of soluble pigments from applied paints as time goes on.

custom painting vinyl things like munny's has taught me this. the silver base used has no soluble pigments to be absorbed. the silver coloring is coming from metallic flake, an insoluble. the red however is a soluble pigment.

im assume HT thought (or had no idea it was an issue) the using the silver as a base coat would prevent this...like a clear coat, but obviously it did not
