A brave man you are username.

Thanks. Keep in mind this was done on a spare chest piece ordered on Ebay the night the parters started selling MKVII parts.
I have decided, on reflection, to fill in the panel lines and the indents on the top corners. They might stick to the resin female master mould.
I'll fill them tonight and sand them tomorrow then make the mould.

Looking good so far :yess:, please keep us updated.

Will do.
I mixed up some filler and applied it to the panels to fill the lines and gaps.
I will sand it tomorrow.
More soon.

I filled the circular gap on the MKVII chest piece today.
There's a small rough part which i will fix tomorrow.
The rest was sanded from 240 grit through 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1800, 2000, 2500 all the way to 3000 grit. It's almost as smooth as glass and will give a nice pull. All i'll need to work out is what colour paint to paint it to give it an authentic MKVII look.

*watches and waits...*

I imagine paint matching will be tough, unless you already have that sorted out. I'm pretty decent at mixing brush-on paints to match by eye but I would think you'd want something spray on for the chest piece.
