With the ignore function, i only see his posts when you guys quote him, but i object to the sodomites line...
Looks like he is the guy who sent me that crazy email.

i thought sodomite was a polite way of saying seat pounding. :slap

how would you say screwing without offending the virgin ears of the world?

That "Sodomites" comment is atrocious. Anyone who in any way uses that word in context with collectibes is clearly out of touch and disrespectful.

Where are the Mods when you need them? I don't post very often, but geez that is awful. I don't understand how people can be so disrepectful to people they have never even met particularly regarding a collectible toy. Wow, just wow.

you kidding? :lecture you're taking offense to my posts is something i take very seriously. if i offended you in the way i present my ideas, i sincerely apologize. it was not intended.

my sincerest apologies to all that misconstrue my posts. i thought i made it perfectly clear but in case you missed it, my posts are purely speculation and my very own opinion. there is no personal malice intended...ever! :)

actually it was directed at anyone wanting $1000 for this figure, not someone selling at a profit. easy mistake.

That doesn't make any sense. Someone who would be selling this at $1,000 would be making a profit. You just contradicted yourself...

Also, if an owner of this figure wanted to sell it for $1k they have every right to. It might be worth $1,000 to he or she and would not want to get rid of it for anything less.

You need to be more careful with your choice of words. One more outburst like that again and I will be blocking you.

.. the word could be misinterpreted to imply a pejorative homophobic connotation, in addition to being a highly provocative criticism.. a less confrontationally loaded term and framing the point you want to make, without overtly aggressive symbolism, could be more persuasive (biblical precedent, generally doesn't wash with moderators).. just a thought.

I appreciate you chiming in to clarify your comments. Sodomite is a very serious word in my opinion and to throw it out there casually as an accusation toward anyone even generally in a thread such as this is uncalled for in my opinion. Having said that I do appreciate the apology and clarification.

I don't take offense to anything being said on the web, especially when it's done on a board where people can be easily carried away arguing over their hobbies.
"..Sodomites - Schmodomites..". Who cares. People should turn down their sensitivity knob and move on. I see people cracking homosexual jokes and refs in here all the time, but for some reason that is not offensive? Go figure.
And before someone in here starts to dissect and analyze ( <- :) ) my words -
It is my opinion, and between mine opinion and yours, guess which one matters to me...

Big difference between this BD and silly thing IMO. This figure is tied to the Avengers movie, and is very distinct and unique among all the other armors being fully battle damaged.

Silly thing is ridiculously out of scale and really appeals to a IM collector after ever armor. If silly thing is still grabbing $1,000+ now with the small amount of collectors wanting that, I think it is safe to say this piece will be right up there with it. The appeal of this suit is with IM and Avengers collectors so much more of a potential buyer pool.

After seeing the mark VII in color as good as that turned out ( minus the head) and what it is going for, this will safely be a higher priced if not the highest priced suit to acquire. Toss in the limited availability and how fast it sold out, the facts are pointing a double up arrow on the market watch.:lol

:goodpost:

Rarity nearly always drives up prices due to supply and demand economics.. and rarity in a Collector based market, amplifies this effect.

I'm honestly surprised that everyone doesn't have Darkmatter on ignore at this point lol.

I try to avoid being unduly censorial, otherwise there is a risk of slowly creating an echo chamber, where the only opinions that exist are those one already agrees with.. heck, sometimes I even watch Fox News!
:)
