Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

So I have the option of either getting this Superman or Superman III Evil Version?

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I have all 3 hot toys superman, man of steel it's easily my favorite of the 3. Evil is my least favorite, it's just less iconic in my opinion. Man of steel is just so clean looking and the texture off his suit really makes it stands out. The stand is really nice too. The bendable pole gives endless possibility for poses. Man of steel is a far superior figure in my opinion.

I took a few quick photos of him tonight. He's very photogenic, but it was scary leaving him balancing on his own even though he can.

I noticed there is a small bump or dust particle in the paint on the right side of his chin. It is almost microscopic but my big eyes cannot un-see it:cuckoo: Anyone else seen this kind of thing?

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Nice idea with the salute guys...but whenever possible, the salute should be rendered with the right hand. When the right hand is injured or otherwise unable to salute, saluting with the left is acceptable. Also, those salutes are all way too high on his head, it looks like he's just trying to keep the sun out of his eyes... a proper salute is just around the eyebrow/temple area.

Just a nitpick from a former soldier. Other than that detail, great pics, carry on.

Me - I'd get this guy. Especially if you already have the other Reeve Supes. The evil version is just a cheap repaint, IMO. Sure, he looks great, but they didn't change anything about the sculpt.

You always go with Chris first IMO. That figure is really well done especially the suit, but it all depends on what you like more.

Crap. I wish I had known about that earlier. I may have to correct this..... Thanks for the info.

I don't have any Superman, I'd like one, I just dunno, I like the suit work on this but I feel the paint on the face is too soft, not enough detail where as I love the Chris Reeves face and base, I prefer Superman 3 in terms of film but not gone mental over which superman I get, just looking for some opinions, any flaws etc on either?

The CR sculpt is top notch on both figures evil or reg. (I think this is good too, but CR is spot on)

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Feck it, I jumped on this, if I don't like it I'll just buy the Evil Superman and sell this on.

Knowing me I'll end up with two Supermans, no money and an unhappy GF :/

With my other hobbies, I promised myself to limit Batman only with Hot Toys. However, I broke my own promise and bought the Reeves and Cavill Superman. I can only say it was one of the more irresponsible things I have ever done and the only thing I never regretted. When I got sick and tired of eating instant ramen, I would just go look at them and say well worth it. :)

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Just got my Man of Steel in today! It's been a long wait! Had a bit of a QC issue with one of the hip linings slightly coming away from the suit, but I glued it down a bit so it's not too noticeable now. Overall, a pretty decent figure! Some pics I took :)

The old and the new :)

Can't get much more musuem than this!! LOL!!! :)

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

It looks like they can, only if the door is kept open :)

No, both bases do indeed fit in the detolf with the door closed! :)

I actually would've preferred if they had given the standard little black stand as an option, like they did with CR Superman. The base they provided is great for the odd dynamic flying pic, but overall is too damn big!!
