yesss! i truly agree with you. eventhough blue makes some accent with the rest of the armor, it surely will come nice in red and gold colour like in the concept.

why marvel whyy? :gah:

THAT would have been more tempting. I'm just not a fan of the blue on this. The red and gold in that pic makes it look more like hulkbuster.

I know fan boys are gonna bash me but you people actually paying over 500 bucks for this fig are the reason this hobby sucks now. I dont care if this has been said but your a sucker to shell out that kind of money for something that should be around the 300 mark. I cant believe with every passing fig so many people are like" yes! Dont care what it cost ill be a tool and buy it! " ive seen so few of you actually say thats crazy im not paying that. Im all for blowing money on these things but the fact that people are like hey 500 its a raping and unjustified and not worth it but oh well lets do it! Just mind blowing. Nobody get all sensitive and start cursing me out and saying u mad bro and if I dont like it get out the thread. Just saying come on this is prob the most ridic priced figure yet. you guys are really making this hobby go into boycott territory.

Yeah guess your right, best thing to do is ignore the troll and just actually talk about the figure, as to your question I have no idea, all I can say is that im very jealous of anyone who has an iron monger :(

BBTS still has them at retail.

It's one (if not) the best piece HT has ever produced IMHO. Yes, I love robots (transformers are a part of me) and I'm a very casual IM fan, but this piece is the best figure i own bar none.

Just magnificent engineering porn.

why ssc's price is soooo high? my local seller just open Pre-Order this for $385... well, it's still high... but at least it's $125 cheaper...

usually differences between SSC and local shops is just $40-$60, not $125. boy, after HT, now ssc is getting greedy, eh?

What shop has it up at $385? That's a great price.

yep, I'm somewhere in Asia... and usually the HT's PO price here is lower than SSC

I know watch is assembled by hand too. But you just assemble it exactly like the blueprint. Its different, theres hand painting skill involved in here. Before it was assembled. Theres no machine to do the paint! Thats why theres just only few employee who work on the paint. And theres special set of skill neede for that.

And there again the license to produce this thing. Consider iron man 3 is expected to be more profitable than before since the avenger makes a huge income, marvel may charge the license more expensive too. (Im guessing hot toys will be buy the license long way before the film released considered that mark 42 etc is already up for pre order month before the movie released, months before for reasearch, and months before when they buy the license)

Third point is big figure like before monger and tumbler isnt profitable and nearly not profitable considering that there's less demand than the regular figure.

Fourth point is there so many people after the movie comes out say that they wont be getting any other suit in ironman 3 except mark 42 iron patriot and war machine so maybe they prevented on not having less profitable condition since they already do the research and buy the license to realease these figures.

Megacolor, imo comparing the production costs of QVC to Hot Toys pieces is like comparing apples to...i don't know...beef?!?!

If you wanna compare production costs of watches that might remotely have a similar price structure to HT's, I would suggest using watch brands that require detailed workmanship, as well as licensing. Maybe Hublot's F1 & Manchester United watches can cut it, or Tagheuer's Carrera watches. Even then, it's still apple to oranges loll

I wasn't comparing the production costs of QVC to Hot Toys...what I was trying to point out that the $500 price tag is overpriced because it don't cost that much to make Igor. You know it and I know its overpriced. Why are you guys trying to convinced fan thats this price is reasonable? :cuckoo:

It's cheaper in Asia because taxes are a lot more in America. Especially in California where SSC is based. So I wouldn't really say that SSC is greedy or anything like that. The difference in price is probably due to shipping and taxes that SSC has to pay as a business.

In Singapore where I live, the pre-order price from the official HT Distributor is about US$432.

Why do you think that telling us your "facts" over and over again will eventually make us believe you are right?
They COULD price this at $1000 if they want.
An iPhone costs $100 to make, are you trying to tell us that they should sell it for the price it cost to make?
Because then you truly are crazy.
They are in this to make a profit.

It really is when compared to what Monger sold for and considering this will no doubt be a smaller run for a super hot franchise. That said, don't know why anyone would be upset about having to pass on this figure. It has such a negligible role and there are way cooler big armours on the horizon, like Iron Whiplash (though obviously not as big as Monger or Igor) and no doubt a Hulk Buster, eventually (and if we include big figures in general, Thanos will be ten times cooler than Igor). I'm saving my money and space for those characters, personally, so I don't feel I'm missing anything by not getting Igor.
