I'm curious to see how he looks with his mandibles positioned correctly. Hopefully that won't be a very hard thing to achieve on the finished figure.

I'm done defending this thing. Reference for this character is scarce and hating on Tsang seems to be the flavor of the month so it makes sense why people would deem the sculpt as looking "nothing like the Elder." I was upset at the beginning too; my first post in this thread ("God-____ing-dammit...") was intended to be negative -- until I looked closely, past the figure credits.

I'll admit I overreacted a bit and after looking more closely at the photos I don't think he's that bad, but there's definitely something off about that sculpt.

He looks to young/clean for some reason. One thing that would help is adding more quills around the eyebrows IMO.

Yeah this guy looks awesome i wish HT hadn't revealed it this soon though, NOW I JUST FREAKING WANT IT!!!
Still it's weird they didn't reveal this guy after p2 cuz at that time the same body and mandibles were available.
Yet they made scar 1st which required a diff body, new mandibles, new armor, etc.

Still this will look awesome with my p2 figure, hope they dont delay him too much.

really hoping to do that!
cause i compared the old figure to new photos, and there's really no way to use the old painting style instead of this one.
it worked OK with P1 head replacing classic's, but not this one. Grayback v.1 is just too old to be painted better than this one.
just hope tsang won't cover his mouth with brown ***** again

...aaaand may be i will finally use those quills from AVP elder that i kept for some special moment )))

He sure as hell wasn't the gray that NECA used.

The official prototype shots may be warmly tinted to match the ship interior background, but the on.cc shots show him as more of a pale, light, yellow-brown.

he's almost as gray as the Hippie with just slight yellow!

p.s. it's totally visible that actual suit feet and feet on the right are different feet of different shape and color. don't know why guys who make such collages think they are the same.

HOLY CRAP! That looks good, the color looks too grey though. Aside from the hs i prefer the ht version though.
Thats an amazingly good custom though, if not for ht version i would say that's the best.
Still though thats a one of a kind custom so ht is my only option anyway. If only ht hadn't recycled the mandibles,
the top tusks should be small like this custom then the ht version would be more awesome.

Without a doubt it does look better than the original. It's cool something i never noticed is he has purse made with a severed human hand.

Maybe they want to test the waters? Scar and Celtic are still available and might not be selling to well. Elder is a bigger draw and their just checking how well he does.
