Anyone else having a problem with the price at Popcultcha? When I try to check out with PayPal, the final price including U.S. shipping is $260+ when converting to U.S. currency.

Edit: Disregard the message above. I just picked up a near mint Spacetrooper on eBay for $190.

I purchased this s while back and had a long battle returning it to Sideshow. It came with a black un removable smudge on the rear side thigh area. I battle for a week and finally the took it back. I got the whole handmade speech.

I'm like look the armor is supposed to be white with no marks & none of my other HT have any of this.

i got the stormtrooper 2 pack and both had black marks on their thighs. Bought them off ebay so didnt have much comeback. I got a good price so just kept them

Is eBay the only likely place of picking up spare parts for an alternate chest plate and helmet, if you wanted to convert between the Spacetrooper and Stormtrooper?

Probably, but you don't really need a spare helmet - the breathing tube is glued in but can be removed without too much trouble leaving only a hole in the helmet that is not normally visible. The backpack can be removed, but it is almost impossible to do so without leaving some kind of mark on the chest plate - that said, it can be snapped on again without too much trouble and any damage isn't visible from the front after all.

Ahoy!
If you did want to go through the trouble, this is how I modified mine...

Cheers,

Note: The stock (damaged) chest plate was used for another figure. The undamaged chest armor pictured above was purchased on ebay.

Thanks for sharing this. I don't have this trooper but I appreciate all the time you put into this. And especially sharing it with everyone. Very clever magnet use.

What type of glue are you using to hold the magnets in place?

Thanks for sharing.

Generally, I'll scuff the side of the magnet to be glued with sandpaper and secure it with epoxy. Though on something this small, cyno (superglue) should be fine (since those areas aren't subjected to any torque or stress).

Hmmm, I was gonna get the Sandtrooper and probably the Snowtroopers from ESB later down the road, I'm not sure if I should pick this guy up. He appears for like a second in the film and hasn't had any discounts except free shipping, wondering if I should wait longer? Or pass on it completely?
