Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

I figure $5-10 more than AoU Cap.

You think so?

BvS Supes was $210, and I'm guessing CW Cap will come with less accessories (no separate sculpt) than AoU Cap. I figure CW Cap will be somewhere in between BvS Supes and AoU Cap.

It's just a guess, taking into account a slight price inflation since this figure will be released a year after the AoU version.

MOS Superman was $200 and had more accessories, in the form of a 1/6 and full size command key.

On the other hand, CW Cap might not have a Rogers sculpt and will indeed be cheaper.

I am guessing $219.99.

I don't think it will be much cheaper then Aou cap, if at all.

I think it'll be cheaper, but not by much. Essentially somewhere in between BvS Supes and AoU Cap. Presuming it doesn't include an additional sculpt.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

Unless there's some unforeseen accessory, he will probably have his shield, alternate hands, and base. Not that Cap can come with much anyway, just the basics.

And I'm glad that stupid magnetic crap is gone too. Another Whedon thing that was corrected.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

Cap had magnetic gauntlets in the old comics thanks to Stark, Whedon didn't make it up.

Wasn't made up by whedon. Also, not sure why you assume it's gone. People man.

It was utilized for the movie and Whedon was the director so he likely approved it. Cap has had some ridiculous shield and suit variations in the comics besides magnets, but I'm not pointing to the comics here.

Some of us are HOPEFUL it's gone because screenshots from the movie show the leather straps are back. If you like the magnets, cool...but I don't and hope they're gone.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

Yes whedon directed so he approved the inclusion of the magnets. But he didn't invent the idea. No more then he did Cap having a shield. It's pulled directly from the source material.

I like magnets.

I was convinced I wouldn't need another Cap, but if the final product ends up like that I'll replace AoU Cap.

I'm not sure why some people are so worried that this figure is going to include a magnetic shield.

Granted it's the prototype, but the prototype figure for AoU at this time last year possessed the magnetic shield, so I think it's safe to presume this figure will be wielding a shield with straps, not a magnetic one.

I mean it's quite simple. From all what has been shown, all signs point to him using straps on his shield again in CW; there's no reason to believe that the figure won't reflect that. Why wouldn't it? I could be incorrect, but I get the impression that a lot of people are mistaking the intention of the magnetic shield on AoU Cap. The magnetic shield is not some sort of new technology that HT came up with as a new method to attach the shield to any Cap figure from here on out. Cap used a magnetic shield in AoU, so the magnetic shield on the figure was simply meant to emulate that, nothing more. If he doesn't use a magnetic shield in CW, which it doesn't appear that he will, the figure won't have one.

As it doesn't.
