Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

Will probably get this as my first ever figure of Cap (same with Iron Man Mk 46) though I'm still curious to see the suit with scales...

I highly doubt we'll even get that in this movie. People are going crazy for it just because one t-shirt was shown with him wearing something to the affect. None of the promos have given us any indication of it. It may just be a big surprise that they're hiding or it doesn't exist.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

ORRRR it may be a big surprise towards the end. ;) I wouldn't mind if we never got the scale mail suit, but I think it'd be pretty awesome.

Not sure if it is the pictures but the body looks bigger and muscular and broad shoulders.

Looks the same at first blush but in addition to different gloves, knee pads and boots and less red, the design throughout the suit has been changed, perhaps the harness as well. The belt also looks simpler.

Yeah but this time it is the right color, not bright and comic book looking but darker with the red parts being maroon and the blue part of the suit being the dark navy blue, instead of the bright red and sky blue on the AOU one.

Both are prototypes , but to CW benefits of the improvements that AOU has had in production . the prototype of AOU not seemed so muscular with broad shoulders as the final product .

TBH I can't really see a difference between the look of the proto in that pic and the final product of AOU cap as neither of them looked like they had broad shoulders like this one appears to have. This CW one looks like it has an actual bigger body with broader shoulders than the other Cap figures.

It can be , maybe I'm wrong .
The problem is that until HT fix the body proportions, the products are always changing . Perhaps with the doll Infity War ....

Or maybe I am, but it sure looks different to the AOU cap that just had bulkier padding with the same skinny body instead of a bigger body like the WS proto.

That's true.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

Sure looks to me like he has broader shoulders, noticeably so. Whether that will be just on the proto, is due to clever padding and fabric, or an actual bigger body will remain to be seen.

So far Captain Americas suits have had a purpose of sorts, and the others have been a new paint job. If they do go with a Scale armor I would imagine it would be to have a advantage over Iron Man, such as it reflects or lessons the damage of his repulsors. But I'm in the boat that we won't see the armor.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

Why doubt the scale armor? We haven't seen a single sign of Spidey, and yet he is in the movie. Unless I'm mistaken, haven't seen a second suit for Stark, and there's no way he just has one.

Did any of you guys read the joblo "leak" that shared the costumes and upgrades of every hero in the movie? You know...the same one that said hawkeye would have one sleeve, war machine would have a club and bulkier frame, falcon would get a red wing that was a drone, giant man and all that other stuff. The same article that came out months before concept art was revealed... because in that same article it said cap would get scale mail. So you guys think they just luckily called right every aspect of the suits for other heroes and not this? Cmon, im sure we will get it.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

The same site that has gotten stuff wrong. Even if 6 months ago the early plan was to make a scale mail suit...doesn't mean they did. That leaked info could have come from those leaked images that they had before others. Just Becuase they got some right doesn't mean they got it all right. Unless they have seen the final cut of the theatrical film they can't know for sure. Even if you work on a film, in the prop or costume departments, you don't know everything that makes the final film.

And in that same post on joblow they said the teams where cap/black widow/falcon/SW vs iron man/vision/Antman/war machine....

We know that's not the case. You can't say they are right Becuase they got points A and B correct and dismiss that they got C and D wrong.

Regarding a scaled suit for Cap, I'm not holding my breath. I'm going to wait until each trailer for the film has released to get a better idea on if it'll make an apperance or not. The trailers for TWS showed scenes of him wearing both the SS and GA suit and surprise, surprise, those were the suits he wore in the film. If none of the trailers for CW show any scenes of him wearing, nor even remotely hint at a scaled suit, I would say it's not in it.

I knew that AoU Cap is buffer than Stealth Suit Cap but yeah, the CW Cap does look wider in the shoulders. It could be the angle or it could be lighting and it could very well be the same body. Here's the production AoU Cap.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

Yeah the shoulders are definitely a bit squarer on the CW proto, but I'll save judgement for the final product, not that it will be much different... I still love AoU Cap, it's my favorite Cap figure out of the 5 I have. But this one is growing on me, it's gonna be hard to pass on. I'm hoping there is a 2nd suit for him in the movie like the speculated scale mail suit, because I'd rather have that... One thing that does bug me about CW cap is the chest design around the star, it's too busy. And this just makes it look so much better.

I think the chest on the CW suit is less busy than the AoU's which is one reason why I like it so much more. But that scaled suit would look fantastic, I hope it comes to fruition.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

I'm not hyped for the main suit at all because it is too similar to the AOU suit. I really hope that there is a scale mail version but it's doubtful since the final battle has him in the main one.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

I told myself I wouldn't need another Cap, AoU version would be THE Cap for my collection. This is looking even better, small improvements all over. I'll wait for final product pics, but if he comes out looking like this I might have to replace AoU Cap.

Wasn't doubting the armor, per se, just saying that we have no idea. No, we have not seen spiderman, but marvel has flat said he's in the film. So not the same. Your comparison of iron man doesn't work either, because we have a five film precedent for that. There isn't one for Cap like that.

Sure it may happen. But as of now, all it is is fan rumors. Flamed by sites running with it. It's more akin to the "bleeding edge" armor being the next armor in every film since iron man 1. Sure, it may happen. Doesn't mean the tumors are true.
