Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

Good luck black knight. It should stay around a bit. But I didn't expect Aou Cap to sell out either. But it should be around at least a bit after its released in USA by sideshow. It's a good looking figure, and the Aou cap is great. So if pick it up if you want a Cap figure.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

If you want it, order as soon as it's code eligible. People messed around and didn't order AoU Cap in time. Probably won't sell out as fast as that one did but you never know.

Wasn't the AoU Cap around for at least a few months though? It's not like it flew off the shelves in a matter of days.

Just shortly after the movie released is when it went to waitlist, I think. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

Yeah it's possible for that because it's an altered winter soldier figure. Significant changes...but still the same base product.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

The figure was released in HK on April 14 and the movie was released in the US on May 1. Dayum. :lol

AoU Cap is a seriously awesome figure. I can't wait for you to get the CW one, he'll be just as good, if not better!

Unlike Stealth Cap, CW Cap will be a figure I'll proudly display. Just kidding, his ass ain't coming out of the box either. :lol

I knew that AoU Cap is buffer than Stealth Suit Cap but yeah, the CW Cap does look wider in the shoulders. It could be the angle or it could be lighting and it could very well be the same body.

That's true, I just hope that is not the case. It would be good if they used a bigger body instead of just using the same skinny one and using padding to beef him up.

Here's the production AoU Cap.

I don't think the shoulders do not look broad in that pic, but I can see the posing the arms like that makes them appear wider than they are.

I really hope he comes with a head without the mask like AoU

I hope so too.

However, I would be more inclined to say he won't. Simply based on the trend that the only two single packaged Cap figures to include an extra sculpt thus far have been both Avengers Caps. Not including TWS dual pack, all single packaged Cap figures from his solo movies haven't.

I get the whole Avengers 2.5 thing but I mean...it still is at its core a Captain America story. The Avengers pop up all the time in Spider-Man and Cap solo books but they're still at their core, the books of those respective characters. Well least that's how I see the films as well. The solo films are like the solo books while the Avengers movies are the events. Anyone can pop up in solo films if they want. But yeah, you're not wrong about the average Cap movie. It's probably cause this is the first time we've seen his amount of characters in a solo film. I think once people get more accustomed to characters popping up in solo moves, people will stop caring.

True, the story revolves around Cap and Bucky again, perfect follow up to Winter Soldier.

This is a world we're watching and things will happen in between these two films. It's great that we can see it all with movies instead of in-movie story telling of like the Star Wars opening crawl.

And being part of this world, this movie effects other people too but what drives it is Cap and Bucky.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - CA: Civil War - Captain America Figure

So far Captain Americas suits have had a purpose of sorts, and the others have been a new paint job. If they do go with a Scale armor I would imagine it would be to have a advantage over Iron Man, such as it reflects or lessons the damage of his repulsors. But I'm in the boat that we won't see the armor.
This man.
I like the way you think. This is logical reasoning as to why the change would happen. That's one of the few things I've seen in speculation of scalemail, a reason or a why. It fits with the fact that whenever Cap changes a suit in a movie there is usually a narrative reason.
