Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Most likely not.

The closest is the power pose figure but that one has limited articulation and not the full movement that this one offers.

I was thinking of getting this just incase the next one isn't to my liking.

Idk how you feel about this one but as a rule of collecting, only buy things you like and appreciate.

If you buy something solely on thinking this'll be more liked or be more valuable you won't be happy. If you want to sell one of these down the line and you just can't find a buyer you'll be stuck with something you don't want. If you buy stuff you like, at least you have a figure you like as opposed to something you absolutely dread looking at.

And there's always gonna be another armor down the line. You learn pretty quick that no armor sticks around for more than 2 movies :lol

So really you can't really judge it based on should I get this one or the next. Just gotta get the ones you like and if you like this one just get it. And if you like the next one more and you don't want this, just sell the 46 to help finance the 47.

Well if you aren't really 100% into it, I can't tell you the $345 USD price tag is worth it... It's a lot of money to shell out.

Ya i'm gonna wait till the movie comes out to make my final decision it's the shape of the arc reactor that's throwing me off. Thanks for the help.

It's my pleasure man, and yeah it always help to decide based on how you feel about the film and how it looked in it.

I've been seeing all of these Iron Man figures but just got into Hot Toys in February and saw this one and didn't want to miss out but that's not the way I should be looking at this hobby.

Oh yeah, not at all. Just get stuff you like. If you end up buying them all you'll be ending up spending a lot more money than you wish you did :lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

I never thought that there'll be an armor I'd be willing to shell out such crazy sums for other than the Mark VI, but I think I finally found it! :panic:

The blend of colors is simply beautiful, and the design just hits the sweet spot between classic (Marks I-VII) & modern. Plus, I am so glad to finally have the chance to own an un-helmeted RDJ sculpt :yess:

Now on to setting aside $25 a month for the next 15 months !

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Is there going to be a plastic version of this figure?

They won't make a diecast and a plastic version. It would be a bad business move.

Diecast figures are mostly plastic anyway. Occasionally they do a power pose figure (twice out of 30 suits) to help offset the costs but otherwise it's not going to happen.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

I like it but I wouldn't say it's my favorite.

Which one of the past suits would you say is your favourite, for me it would be the Mark 6 but I have the new Mark 3, Python, Silver Centurion and the Mark 43 along with the Mark 45 on preorder and I imagine I will be preordering the 46... Right now I am planning on selling at least Python and possibly (but not sure yet) Centurion also to help pay for a couple Civil War figures. Is your favourite suit one that we may see a new version of or is it a suit we will likely never see a new version produced of?

If its the former but you do not want to wait and see if they make a new Mark 4 or 6 (just a for instance) and you like the 46 enough to buy it as possibly your only Iron Man (other than them releasing your favourite old armour or something from Spiderman or Infinity War) then I don't think you can go too wrong as it is a great looking suit and think it will make for a great figure especially with the Tony head.

If it is the latter and there is a suit you like the most which is now out of production and we likely won't see a new version of then it might be better to instead try and track down a good deal on that model.

On an Iron Man kick right now. Need more news. 1/4 or Diecast older suits would be nice.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

I was thinking it as possibly being my only Iron Man figure. Knowing that he will be in more movies.

That's tough man. The simple answer is yes. The 46 has everything I want out of an armor. Beautiful red and gold. A headsculpt that I really hope will be on par the 1/4 scale 43. Proportions look spot on. Articulation appears to look good based on the poses shown in the promo pics. And all the lights are actually functional.

Other than the physical pros of the figure, for me Civil War is one of my favorite comic events. Bleeding Edge is my favorite comic armor and this is the first in the MCU to have all the RTs. And it's actually cheaper than the 45 which I'm paying full price for, which doesn't have a headsculpt or all the extra lights.

But "possibly being my only Iron Man figure" is a tough statement to make. It's relatively easy to make that call now because as of this very moment we've seen every MCU armor. But he's set to appear in Spider-Man Homecoming, he'll be in the Infinity War movies. Who knows what awesome armor he'll be wearing in those?

If you love the armor now, I'd say go for it. If you keep looking for what future movies have to offer you may not own an Iron Man figure until 2020. Not saying that's a bad thing! But personally, I really love what RDJ did for Iron Man and for the MCU, even Tony Stark from the new Invincible Iron Man comic is inspired by RDJ's portrayal of the character. I want an Iron Man figure that I love now in the collection instead of worrying about how awesome the next may be.

Agreed, especially regarding the 1/4-scale! The 43 is my only Iron Man figure at the moment, so I've decided to ignore the HPP suits and focus only on 1/4-scale releases.

This figure isn't coming out for a year and a half. It wont sell out before then. At least see the film, you might not even like it in action, who knows! No reason to rush right now. At the very least in a few months you can order it with a $20 coupon.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Admittedly I wonder how cool this suit will be in the film, given that Cap and Bucky beat Iron Man to a pulp at least once while he's wearing it.

Some new shots of Mark 46 and Cap.

New missing forearm missile lol

add that to all of the stuff war machine is missing. hopefully there's enough time for them to add all of this stuff, but my hopes aren't high. i still love the look of it and will still get it. but it'd be nice to have the full package of each of these (the 46 and war machine mark 3)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Are there any differences between the diecast and plastic iron mans? Other than the fact that some parts are metal?

No. You just get a tiny portion of the figure in diecast so that it's heavier.
