Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Plastic Enemies posted that GIF on their Facebook page last week. I was so pissed.

Ugh WTF. Once I saw that I immediately unfollowed all comic and movie related pages. Next time I'll make sure to do so next time once a movie is released earlier overseas ....Which I'll always believe is pure bullish***

Yeah I loved seeing the movie before you.
Why the heck should America get everything first ?

Umm so? I find it amazing that you think you have that right.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

I'm getting the entire CW line, you guys will absolutely love this film.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Hopefully with the bruised cheek, since he had that look for most of the film.

Yeah I'm really hoping that's what they give us. Loved it. [emoji106][emoji106]

I don't care if other countries saw it before me but I do care when people post spoilers on social media platforms when a whole country hasn't seen it yet. It's inconsiderate. "Yeah I loved seeing the movie before you." Kind of a weird thing to take so much joy in but okay.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Mixed feelings on this suit still. Action wise it was cool and all, but visually I feel it suffered the same problem on screen as the 45, mainly too many shots where it was almost cartoonishly CGI, compared to others where it looked like a nicely rendered physical object. I also don't like how much red there is on the legs, it was bugging me already seeing the figure from certain angles, and its all I could see in the film, looks like he has red pants on. Just messes up the balance visually for me, can't say I'd want it on my shelf. I was already a no go on the 1/6 diecast for its thick lines and detail and diecast tax, but I'm not sure I'd jump at well done 1/4 version either. I'd have to wait and see.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Maybe I'm missing something here, but after seeing the film I didn't think there was anything really cool and new about the Mk46. It basically had the same weapons and features as all the previous IM suits right? Or did I miss something? There was that newer suit-up feature but it wasn't anything ground-breaking different, plus the helmet can fold away completely, but neither of these are something an action figure can do.

What a petty immature attitude.

Why did you "love" seeing the movie before us?

Do you have some deep seeded jealously of "US"

Hot toys are made in Asia and I don't get upset that they are released there first.

But to answer you question.

The character and the Marvel universe was created in America, in act the modern version of a comic book was created in the USA.

The movie was created buy a American firm and I'm pretty sure they created it in a way that is attractive to American audiences.

So I never really understood why they release block busters in other countries first.

It must be some sort of sort of marketing ploy.

Wondering if we'll get a separate battle damaged version of the Mark XLVI. I'll probably end up getting this version though.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Just saw the film last night and now I'm even more excited that I PO'd this HT fig. Now I need Panther, Bucky, & hopefully Spidey!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

I have to say, after seeing the movie I actually like 46 less than I did before... But I'll still probably get it eventually... 45 is still my favorite armor to date.

Because studios make more profit from the US release, roughly 50% while over seas they only get back about 40-30% of the money it makes. So the positive word of mouth from the over seas market amps up the american market and hopefully that generates a bigger box office. Some studios have special deals in place where the opening weekend they'll make anywhere from 60-70% of the money a movie makes, the theaters will get the rest and every week after that the percentage swings more in favor of the theater chains. Sometimes it's vice versa as well or it's just a simple split.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

I'll probably be picking this up. I really dug the suit and it's the best look in my opinion. Mark 46 against cap and bucky display will be a win win.

Another motivation is to cut down on piracey, which happens a lot over there. Most people were downloading films cause they didn't want to wait for the release. So if it releases there first theres less inventive to pirate.
