I don't think there is any real distinction as to which troopers have the helmet attachment and which don't. As you can see, the specialists in both these pics have it.

I see HT announced a regular and Deluxe Edition Deathtrooper (non-specialist). Normally variants don't bother me much, as I just pick the one I like best, but this kind of pisses me off, as the Deluxe Edition is basically the specialist with the range finder helmet and a different gun. Plus there appears to be an exclusive version with Stormtrooper doll and a diorama base. I guess shame on me for not waiting.

Incredibly annoying to see the "Deluxe Version" announced with a single payment left to go on my "normal version". I emailed Sideshow to see if they can transfer my order to the "Deluxe Version" and will be curious to see the response.

From an aesthetic perspective I actually prefer the helmet WITHOUT the range-finder, but the additional accessories are too good to pass up.

Ridiculous and honestly quite inconsiderate business practice on Hot Toys part.

I absolutely LOVE him without all the extra gear. I'll probably end up getting another basic DT when they come out and hopefully, that one will have the little rangefinder on the side of the helmet. I'll have them two flanking Director Krennic or something. Maybe even RO Vader if he doesn't get made.

Not as bad as the FO troopers, but the rubber does restrict some. The big problem with the FO troopers wasn't the rubber gaskets as much as the super tight under suit.

******* it I literally just bought the normal set today. Didn't realize there was a Deluxe one until I accidentally went to Hot Toys site today. What a Farce.

Does anyone know the timeline of the Deluxe edition release date? I will probably get that instead of the normal version death trooper and just mix and match parts. I'm sure the Pauldron can be removed.
