Looks good, are you planning on getting the Endor/Deluxe?

Some great shots in this thread! The SSC accessories look pretty good with this figure too TonTon! Still debating if I’ll get the Deluxe Endor version since I already have this one, but I do want it for sure. The Endor outfit is one of my favorites.

I decided to go for the deluxe. Might sell this figure off or part it out and maybe put together a custom with the Sideshow parts in the mean time -- not sure there's much market for this full figure now with the Endor/deluxe coming. The Sideshow helmet is way too tight so I'd be worried about paint damage, the sculpt on the Hot Toys one will likely be nicer too. I'll hold on to the SS poncho just in case that happens to be better though.

And nice shot, Indy!

I ended up ordering the deluxe version when it was released, it pisses me off what they did but I’m a sucker. I don’t know what I’m gonna do with my current Luke tho

The resale value of this figure has dropped like a rock. I feel really bad for all the retailers stuck with this release when the Deluxe was announced.

Thank you guys! If you have both this version and also get the upcoming Endor/Deluxe figure at least there will be plenty of ways to display both figures with the combined outfit parts and accessories. Still personally wish it could’ve been one DX release though. But the plus side is that you’ll get two figures to display on different ways.

I was wondering if they're going to remove the fat undersuit in the new Deluxe Luke or not.

Just used my $25 off coupon to order this Luke. After debating between this and the DX, I decided on this because it's cheaper and I prefer the Jedi Cloak and Death Star diorama base to the windy hair sculpt and goggles. I needed one Luke and this is the best version of the character to me.

For those who own him, do you have any tips or things I should know about? I've seen some division about the fat suit and whether to take off or leave it. Pretty excited to pose him with the Deluxe Emperor I also have on order.

As soon as I took the fat suit off mine I regretted it. The top became too baggy.

I wouldn't recommend changing out the detachable arm (light-up arm) too much because it stresses the stitching on the right arm (blame HT for not including a gloved right hand that can't hold the saber).

As always be careful about posing the wire on the hood of the cloak. It might stick out.

Have to disagree sorry, fat suit removal is a must. He’s way to fat with it on.

Here’s mine with the fat suit completely removed and the top taken in a couple of mm on each side. Makes a huge difference imo.

Also I have no problem switching arms on mine but I guess each one is slightly different

No, just raise his arms and slide it off. If I remember correctly behind the front panel is a Velcro strip which can be undone to make it easier.

Hmm more conflicting opinions.. lol

I have to say I do like it better without the fat suit. Hamill wasn't fat at all in the OT. So it doesn't make sense that he needs a fat suit. I just rewatched some scenes from ROTJ yesterday to get another look at him.

How did you take in the sides? Just sew a few lines in the side to reduce it, or did you actually cut the material and sew it back together? I wouldn't be opposed to just running some thread up the side.

But I'll see when I get him in hand, around mid August..

Got my ROTJ Luke in a while ago. Got him for a steal so really can't complain. Went back and forth on how to display him and though not exactly accurate I put him in maximum jedi mode. Hes hanging out with anakin on the shelf so I kind of like the parallel drawn between them.

The purpose of the fat suit isn't to make him fat, it's intended to give him a natural (and accurate) body shape. Many figures have padding for this purpose, often because it's cheaper to pad an existing figure body than manufacture a new figure body for every figure. Obviously many believe they didn't succeed in creating an accurate physique this case, which I would broadly agree with--the suit makes him a little too thick.

Personally, I have not and will not remove that fat suit as, in my opinion, it negatively impacts the fit of his uniform and results in him being too skinny--so, still inaccurate, just in a different way. I ultimately posed him in a dynamic pose that made the heaviness less noticeable, and I'm quite happy with it.

I agree that totally removing it looks too baggy. I wanted better leg articulation and cut the leg parts of the fat suit off.

I will give some warning for my experience if you want to mod the fat suit and put it back on, I absolutely positively could not get the pants back on after taking the suit off. It was impossible for me. I bought another pair of pants and cut the stitching in the back just to get it back on. I'm using a velcro tie as a belt haha.

I didn’t cut it, just stitched the sides. I have never sewn anything before but it was pretty straight forward.
