love this figure! but not a fan of the cloak. its fine in an action pose but not in a museum. there is were you see the short boxy appearance. anyways, heres mine with a sieshow cloak. so many possibilities

The old SS robe is rather nice on the HT. It's the right length and I personally find the hood easier to shape.

Jesus, that looks really good.

The shots and poses (sans Kylo Ren of course) make me want this Hot Toys Anakin figure and the SS robe combination pretty bad.


Gonna resist. If Hot Toys had made 501st troopers, I'd have been sucked in.

Has anyone received their figure with these slight, scar-like indentations on it’s left side of the face? Lower jaw area. It doesn’t look normal, and if not, do you think it warrants a replacement (ordered from Alterego, and they are now out of stock)?

Never mind. False alarm. I just checked the proto photos and those marks were on that as well. I don’t remember Anakin receiving battle damage on that side of his face, but oh well. Off to soak the cloak!

HT I believe will definitely make 501st troopers. I do plan on picking up 2 for Ani-Vader when they do. If not, I'll just pick up SS clones and paint them myself.

I would strongly recommend picking up Anakin though. He is probably the most satisfied I have been with an HT figure I have ever been. So many display options and nothing feels cheap to me. I even like the robe, but the SS robe just is easier to form I think and is the appropriate length.

Does the robe really bleed onto the figure? For ****s sake Hot Toys! This is a preventative process you should be implementing in the manufacturing process. Why are we paying $235 to $250 a pop for figures we STILL have to essentially customize, right out of the box?

Let’s not overlook the fact that the robe wouldn’t even suit a Medicom figure. The patterns they use for their robes are never generous enough in the hood region and this one doesn’t even feel like it fits him at all. There’s not enough room to actually wrap him up inside the robe. The arms are baggy enough, but that’s about it.

I’ll say this once... when you get to Darth Maul, invest in the time and effort to get it right. We should not have to go scouring ebay or custom pages for an “upgrade” to a major component of a figure that just came off the assembly line. Very disappointed. It’s a great looking figure though, if you don’t factor in the ****** robe.

Umm...no...let's DO overlook the fact that this robe wont work on a Medicom figure. This isnt a medicom figure...why would you expect it to?

It's too soon to know if this will stain for sure, but given that myself included with some others have washed our Anakin cloaks and a TON of extra dye came out, it's pretty likely it'll stain.

Honestly, I don't want to wait for someone else to post down the road that the cloak stained their figure. By that point, it might be too late to do anything about it, and these will be long sold out then. Just taking precautions and not leaving anything to chance.

Hmmm... I just unboxed my figure today as well. Mine had little plastic baggies around his hands and boots, presumably to prevent any staining. Did yours arrive packed this way?

Yes he did have the normal plastic covering on legs and hands, even on the left arm up to the elbow. I can't remember now if his knuckle was covered or not.

I thought the same thing when I first received mine, but when I rewatched Revenge of the Sith, sure enough you can see those marks on Hayden Christensen face. I forgot which scene, but it was one of the ones where he was standing in front of the Jedi Council in broad daylight where it was very apparent.

Well I decided to join in on the fun and soak the cloak! I felt like I was filming a detergent commercial from the 80’s. My results are the same as others’. You can see the green tinge of mild detergent turn into a Dianoga Brown after gently swirling the robe around. I agree with those who say that Hot Toys’ fabric QC is horrible!

You can make out the scar here. Definitely a nice touch by Hot Toys including that!
