Umm...no...let's DO overlook the fact that this robe wont work on a Medicom figure. This isnt a medicom figure...why would you expect it to?
Umm... because Medicom is a smaller scale, if only slightly? And I’m doubting this robe would even properly accommodate one of their figures. I don’t really see how much more obvious I can present the issue.

The hood on this robe does NOT bunch up in the back like an actual Star Wars robe is supposed to. Also, there’s not enough material to fold him up inside the robe. It just flings wide the **** right open. Outside of the arms, this robe is entirely too small.

Everyone praising this release must not care about it though, it’s cool. Hot Toys will continue to trample all over us. :dunno

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

To all giving the robe a bath, some people on Facebook have recommended soaking in salt water to help set the dye that remains in the fabric.

I rinsed out (not soak, but rinsed and wrung) my Anakin cloak yesterday as mentioned, I did my Old Ben today. That one was twice as bad as the Anakin with the dye that came out. I might soak them both in detergent tomorrow just to make sure it's all out, although I'm sure what I did already is probably good enough.

I'm really amazed how much extra dye was in these robes. Definitely going to be needed to any future Jedi released, like ROTS Obi-Wan and ROTJ Luke.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

Hmmm... I just unboxed my figure today as well. Mine had little plastic baggies around his hands and boots, presumably to prevent any staining. Did yours arrive packed this way?

Oddly, mine was wrapped in plastic also but still had the same dark spot on the same arm hahaha.

So guys, anyone capable of summarizing 363 pages into a list of trip and tricks, problems and fixes about this particular figure?

I take it that the robe has to be washed with detergent, and the 2 indents on the face are screen-accurate, but anything else?

That staining problema on the hand, has it been confirmed by many people? If affirmative, how come, if hands come wrapped?

Thanks to those helping,
m.

Sometimes yes.

Ah! a fellow peenoise!

Also, Watch out for the hairstrands at the back of the head. make sure you pull back the robe before moving the head as it may damage and full some parts of the fabric.

Do the cloaks lose a lot of colour after being washed or soaked? I assume there must be some colour difference if so much dye is lost in the washing process? Do the cloaks look very light once they're dried back up?

Tried it with obiwan but so far no noticeable discoloration on my side.

Man the stand decal for this one is annoying. i dunno if you need to peel some stuff or something but the boots keep on slipping when standing on the platform

a bit late to the party but here he is!

It really doesn't seem all that different to me. I don't think it had much of an effect on the color of the robe.

One thing I did was swap his ankle pegs with regular size ankle pegs. He still comes in looking at the right height at roughly 6 foot and it ever so slightly helped with the robe being too short. Granted, not enough to fix the issue, but it helped gain him an inch or so (in terms of 1/6 scale) of length

So I initially just rinsed out my Anakin and Obi-Wan cloaks...tonight I went back and soaked them in separate bowls with some Woolite laundry detergent (the one that specific for dark clothes to prevent color fading) and holy crap, the amount of dye that came out despite rinsing and wringing them yesterday was nuts, especially in the Old Ben cloak. I'm glad I did it, and I'll definitely be soaking any future Jedi cloaks, that's for sure.
