I agree all TFA related firgues are crap (and movie itself).

I thought the Rey/BB-8 combo was stellar, but honestly, the rest of the TFA figures were extremely underwhelming. Except the Han Solo. Couldn't bring myself to pick up any of them.

I think people's dislike for the movie is affecting their judgement of the figures. I personally didn't think it was the best movie, but I loved Rey and love my figure of her. The rest of the characters, I didn't care for enough to spend $200 plus on.

I don't know why you say RO figures are crap. I think they are quite nice to be honest.

I think the figures are quite nice but the movie is crap (personal opinion, yours may differ) so it clouds judgement. Now I think the PT was awful but they hold nostalgia as I've seen every Star Wars in the theater first run and the rush of seeing a new film after that long put beer goggles on most of us. Plus the Obi Wan/Anakin duel scene was awesome.

I have the exact opposite opinion.

I still think TFA was a good film, and PT get worse every time I see it. I can barely watch PM , I will never watch AOTC unless it's a riff trax or MST3000 spoof. I can still enjoy ROTS, but just.

TFA is still a fun well made film , with some good acting, dialogue and effects.
I do not think I can say that for any PT film.

The story's are about on the same level.

It's sad they did such a great job on this one and have such lack luster efforts from the film series everyone agrees is the best......

Guess I should have clarified. I was referring to a post about the Rogue One movie being horrible (again, my opinion) but the figures quality wise being nice. I quite enjoyed TFA and can have repeat viewings without issue plus I enjoy the figures even though I only have Resistance Rey.

To me (yes opinion, lest I be attacked) it felt more like a soulless cash in with fan **** winks and nods to really reinforce that yes, this is truly a Star Wars film and not a SyFy Original adaptation of The Dirty Dozen or Seven Samurai in space. I felt the acting was overdone, characters bland and the plot hollow with bad elements (really, a mind reading octopus?) and was nothing more than a cash grab which also has me soured on the idea of other spin offs. To me it felt nothing like a Star Wars film (which was a big selling point and success to others who wanted something "fresh"). The figures look great and are spot on, I just have no interest in them for my collection.

If you could choose what types of spin offs would you prefer? Not a loaded question, I'm genuinely curious as there are literally so many ways that LFL could go with disconnected stories.

You aren't alone there - I wouldn't say Rogue One was horrible, but I definitely didn't care for it. Any of it, really. The main problem for me was the bland characters that I didn't care anything about and couldn't invest in. But the story never grabbed me, either. And I think it's guilty of more fanservice than TFA. Passed on all figures, even Jyn, whom I was originally interested in and hoping to like.

TFA, on the other hand, I never tire of watching and I'm fully engaged with - and invested in - the new characters of Rey, Kylo, Finn, Poe and BB-8. They killed Han. Luke was in it for less than 30 seconds. Leia had just more screen time than Luke. But I loved it. And that's all thanks to the new characters.

R1 hasn't soured me on spin offs, though. It all comes down to ideas and execution.

My feelings for the movies have nothing to do with how I feel the figures look, just whether I'll buy them or not.


This Anakin looks amazing. I have a mostly negative view of the prequels, with only a few things I like due to the story execution. But I've never not liked the idea of Anakin and Obi-wan's close friendship and bond and exploring how it all fell apart. I wished the prequels were executed better, but the two figures to get to me would be Anakin and Obi-wan. They can pretty much stand alone.

Especially since there are so many different ways that people view and appreciate SW. It's pretty much impossible to make a modern SW film that would appeal to all preferences. RO certainly catered to a good deal of us who are mostly older OT fans. But I am curious to see different takes and spin-offs that appeal to the other factions like SE/PT lovers, younger fans, etc.

Yup, can't think how many times I've read now that someone like TFA but not RO as much, or really hated TFA but RO was amazing, etc. My perception is that in general die-hard PT fans seem to prefer Rogue One to TFA.

I loved both TFA and RO but RO was one of those movies that surpassed my expectations since I figured it would be an OK movie and went into it with much lower expectations than TFA whereas TFA I had high expectations for it which was met. I do prefer RO though if for Vader's end scene alone.
