I can't imagine this figure selling anywhere near as well as it would have if The Mandarin had been a complete badass instead of what he turned out to be. I guess whether or not he gets released would be a matter of how much time and money HT had already invested in him before the movie came out.

I actually hope HT pays some kind of price for going all crazy on Iron Man 3. Maybe next time they will show some restraint and also diversify their product.

Hot Toys may just be waiting to show more figures off at a big show. Let's face it: the more popular Iron Man 3 armors like Heartbreaker, Silver Centurion, Bones, Shotgun, and Gemini will sell--period.

If anything, Hot Toys is probably regretting their choice of the Red Snapper armor, which arguably has the lamest appearance of any Iron Man armor in the film (gets named dropped--three seconds later--head gets ripped off and blows up).

Going by past iron man sales,it doesn't matter how much screen time a suit haws,it is still an iron man figure and people will buy it.the mech test scen was maybe a minute,that sold fine.the whiplash figure did ok and he had maybe 3 minutes in that suit b4 tony pulled off the arc reactor.and 2 minutes were him being trapped by the rolls.so even though some of these suits haed very little screen time I personall will get em all,heck how could you not want to make a there's my boys dioramma scene?

After blowing up all of his suits, Tony starts rebuilding.....with a little influence from The Mandarin (although Tony is not a fan of Budweiser so he went a different route)

Don't lie. that's the mandarin's helmet from his suit in Iron man 4.

Kinda dumb on their part releasing the figure waaaay after the movie opened. Figured that greedy SS would've wanted to cash in while the movie was hot.

This may get the treatment some other figures have gotten where it has simply "disappeared". They announced it before the movie came out because of all the hype and once the movie came out and people saw how the "Mandarin" was really portrayed, I don't blame them for halting the progress on actually announcing this figure.

I'm still holding out hope. If we see anything it'll be at SDCC. I'm expecting to see pics of Mandarin, Igor, Silver Centurion, Shotgun and Gemini.

Plus a new Wolvie and hopefully some Thor 2 pieces. Is that asking too much?
