I think the figure eyes are probably done to make the light up effect cooler, being that it's a light up figurine, I'm ok with those sorts of things where there's as much done to make the piece neat as accurrate, the Iron Man figures look like a nice blend of both. Statues and things like that, especially that don't light up, can be more accurrate.

I suppose you're right although my Koto Iron Man statue didn't even come close to that

Besides, I think it's fairly easy to modify something like the eyes without too much trouble. I was experimenting earlier today with something and it looked pretty cool.

That's a definite improvement. I think I'd be okay if the eyes were the last thing HT fixed for future IM figured -- there's a lot of quirks with the current design that needs addressing (proportions, mainly).

Incorrect, when they refer to burn time, they are in fact talking about the battery life. They use this term with flashlights. If something has a burn time of 8 hours, it means that it will be powered 8 hours before the battery charge is gone. You do not have to worry about the life of an LED, they last a VERY long time.

How long is VERY long though? and can they be replaced or is it one time only?

I missed the preorder for the exclusive, but today my friend who owns a local comic book shop was able to place an order for one. He also got me the gunmetal IM right after comic con when it was already sold out. His mark up for exclusives is what I would've paid for shipping if I had ordered it through sideshow ($10-$15) and no tax if I pay cash! The crushed helmet will be mine!!!!:chew

An led has a very long lifespan. You are looking anywhere from 50,000 to 100,000 hours. Leds will dim over time losing some of their light output. But your average use on a toy, you will never see it. If you were to use your Ironman light 8 hours a day, you could expect it to last 30 or so years. I would venture a guess that if anyones ironman stops working, is from faulty wiring and not a burnt out Led.

Edit:After looking over some specs from 3mm and 5mm Leds. Some of the cheaper made Leds appear to have a shorter lifespan. They range from 20,000 - 100,000. Without seeing the specs of the Leds that Hot toys uses, there is really no way to know. But even if you were to go with the shortest life Leds, you are still looking at a very long time for you Ironman to be lit up.

It would be external considering that's how Iron Man's eyes are. I'm using adhesive material right now that's black. I didn't want to outline it with paint or anything else that would be permanent just in case I made any mistakes.

Mine just converted as well. I'm thinking Sideshow got a few more promised to them from Hot Toys. That or a lot of people just now decided they want to save by buying elsewhere. Either way works for me, of course.
