I'm not going to display it with the rdj head anyway. What I am concerned about is the paint colour. Has anyone heard or seen it yet. I heard it is on display in hk at toy hunters. Hope we can see some pics soon.

When you think about it, it really does look like Tony Stark. Maybe not RDJ-Tony Stark, but Tony Stark nonetheless.

That's exactly what I;ve been saying about figures like Wolverine too. If its' a god face and it looks like the character I'm happy.

Although my recently acquired Blade ups the anti something fierce I think.

*Devil's advocate*

If the piece isn't a reflection of RDJ character in the film but an accurate reflection of the comic character why consider it under the "movie masterpiece" license? Why not a comic license?

I am certain a percentage of the movie masterpiece cost to consumer's comes from fees owed to Marvel, studio and actor. A comic license would just be fees owed to Marvel which would lower the price tag.

I am disappointed with the sculpt like most but the sculpt alone won't stop me from purchasing. I plan to have the face plate down therefore, I am disappointed in the sculpt but it is not a deal breaker IMO. If the armor isn't up to par, then I will consider canceling especially with the higher price tag.

You're right. But still, the essence of Tony Stark is there.

like the way you think

thats the thing with HKers. when they complain, they get vicious.

like how someone here said "HT owes us NOTHING".

i agree with that. with the mentality in HK, they feel the exact opposite. in fact, they expect more from HT, and one little slip up...they give em hell.

i mean i've seen my fair share of that behavior in NY. but it just seems a bit worse over in HK.

i feel bad for HT, having to deal with such a hostile and demanding crowd.

wow, some complaints over HKers. I sincerely hope that you do not jump into conclusion that all HK people is having mental problem by just referring to the other forum with languages that you don't even understand. And seems over half of the complaints in the FB is from overseas.

You guys do realize that the reaction from online users Hot Toys were talking about is from the HK forums and Facebook, right?

Have you seen the comments over there? Have you? Words of sueing Hot Toys and that they suck and all that. It's terrible.

There have been critiques and words of disappointment here, on this forum, but it has all been civil and very reasonable and valuable.

I don't know how to definte reasonable and valuable but the HK forum is ok, i like to post comments over there

What's weird is that, if u read the Hong Kong forums, the local customers are more pissed off than the overseas customers.

not exactly, over half of the disappointment comments in FB is from overseas, i think overseas are more pissed off?

Somehow i am relectant to distinglish HK and overseas as there are too many countries involved in overseas.

Thats just facebook, if u read the toy-world forums, I'm pretty sure majority are from HK.

But I do agree that a lot of countries are involved for their overseas customers.

John Connor (final battle) used the same concept re-used sculpt with new paint, new base, new outfit but also included a hydrobot.

Battle damaged IM includes all the same components re-used sculpt, new paint, new base, updated outfit but instead of a hydrobot the exclusive is a crushed helmet.

As I recall, JC was around the same price. Did JC Final Battle receive this type of negative reaction or did the hydrobot silence the poor feedback?

It appears the backlash for IM is quite severe. I understand the circumstances surrounding the figure were beyond HT control but they have some fault in the current situation and stake in the final outcome. Perhaps HT should consider offering the customer's something (right or wrong) to restore goodwill?

Regardless how this plays out, I anticipate keeping my pre-order and I look forward to the new pics after CNY.

Thanks for the pictures HollandX!!! The paint job does not hve the slightly darker hue on the edges of the plates but still looks amazing. Really looking forward to this. :D
As for comments on facebook there really only a handfullbif that overly vocal with poor choice of words. Stating threads is just too much. But this is not the first time a few fearmongers have misrepresented the fanbase so let's not let that misrepresent the country they may be from.
