Nice one WG, your PL looks truely magnificent.

Jim Cameron or Sigourney Weaver would be proud to have this displayed in their office. This piece is easily comparable in quality to studio scale models like the Star Wars pieces made by MR.

Im so depressed that I dont have this coming my way . . . . availability will surely plummet and prices will rise over the coming months for sure :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

Thanks Stendec.

I do hope you can get one of these sometime. It's really impressive. Definitely the centerpiece of the Aliens collection. And unlike Jabba's throne, it's eye-grabbing on its own merit without a figure. Hey, what "kids" don't like vehicles? This is one piece that kids are gonna beg to play with.

It's also fairly fragile -- meaning make sure you have it balanced so it doesn't take a shelf dive! Things WILL snap, particularly the antennae. But it does balance on its own quite well and feels very sturdy.

I have to wait for dark to try a GIF so the light remains consistent. I hope I can get this thing in the frame it's so damn big.

It's funny -- the thing that makes this "toy"-like is the noise from the spinning light. Sounds like one of those old plastic wind-up robots.

The noise was a bit surprising, the actual motion seems so little compared to the thunderous noise it takes to make it happen.

Have fun Wor-Gar. Just so you know, it's not supposed to come with batteries, which was surprising, it's $200 and they can't hook ya up with a few AAs haha.

I also had the same issue with the flamethrower, the inside of the grip portion is more open than the piece that comes off the flamethrower, but that's minor.

Yeah, the flamethrower isn't important. In fact, it's really the cheapest looking part of the whole machine. Straight plastic, no weathering, and a bit oversized. I'll probably never use it -- who would with those wicked arms to pose. I like the blue and red wires though. :)

Do the legs part easily? I see a swivel joint there, but it doesn't want to open up much. I can part the legs and set it down to hold them in place, but when I life it up again, the legs wants to come together. Must be a female machine.

Speaking of female:

I'll tell you, once my situation is all squared away, that flamethrower's coming into play for some of the photos I've got planned :)

As for the legs, I found on mine, the joint almost wants to keep them close to a point then it's fine, but once it's really easy to widen the stance, it's almost too wide.

Well, look what got here just in time for Christmas.I have to admit this thing looks really cool.My only issue with the PL is and I'm not trying to piss anyone off like I do in the StarWars section,:lol but it feels really cheap and easy to break! but other then that it looks fu%#ing great!!

DSC00944.jpg

I'm not sure if anyone has touched on this one yet,but I had some trouble with the PISTONS!!. :lol What I did was I removed the plastic pin that was in the joint that connects the PISTON to the arm, then removed the PISTON!!from the arm all together. After that it was real easy to pull the grey part of the PISTON!! down.I then put the PISTON!! back in place and put the plastic pin back in the joint, put the arm on and then it was all gravy baby!!:lol
The hoses were a ******,because the instuctions HT gave were just too vague.

All in all the PL is pretty damn awesome!! But HT could have gave it a little more weight so it would'nt feel cheap and easy to break!

Oh, and by the way, check the hooters on Weaver man!:D

MERRY CHRISTMAS, CHAVEZ!

Dittos here. Merry Freakin' Christmas.

And your Rip looks pretty good here WG.

Thanks, P! And congrats, the guy finally showed! Eager to hear your thoughts on this.

OK, so here's a preliminary GIF, testing it out. The walking doesn't work so well, again, like the Endo and Alien it looks like its sliding across the floor... but the arms look great:

Way cool man!!

Cool GIF Wor-gar! My power loader just arrived a few minutes ago, but I'm not going to be putting it together until Christmas. :monkey2 I've gotten so many things recently that I think I should save some so that I'll have something to look forward to on Christmas. I did open it up to make sure everything looked OK. The lights seem to work fine and nothing is obviously broken, so I packed it back up. I'll be enjoying the pictures in this and the other thread until Christmas!

Thanks!!!

Actually it wan't too hard. That's only 30 frames. The arms are fairly easy to move. I love the way the hoses move with the arms. To bad it's a bit wobbly, like a handheld camera. I get better at it tonight.

Nice work WG! Love to see it in better light but you got that arm deal working! Working nicely!

Well, mine arrived at sunset so there's not much I can do today. I will build it tomorrow. I did get Ripley built with FML repaint headswap and she looks bad ***.

I have a Pic set shot in mind as well as a video so stay tuned. I still have to remove the PL from the box and inspect the parts, but I'm happy/relieved it's finally here after waiting for 20 years. Make that 21.

EDIT: I pulled out those pistons in less than a minute. LOL. I think I can build this thing in 15 minutes, except for the hoses.

I can't wait for tomorrow! So tonight it is!

Now THAT is Cool *** Sheet! Great gif Wor Gif! LOVE it!

ps Mine is built. Weathered the flamethrower first, one arm joint wouldn't snap all the way in so I used dishwasher liquid to coax it in. Lubrication! :D

Hoses next...

Those gifs are awesome!!!!! Sideshow should put them on their site to show the articulation of these.

okay, on the welder portion of the loader ......is everyones switch looking thing just slip over the silver tube? not that its critical that it stays put or not but i dropped mine a few times putting it together. im thinking of either putting a small dab of jewelers glue on it or something so it doesnt get lost. i cant remember if it was this thread or the pic thread that someone mentioned maybe taking electrical tape to the hoses. i would suggest going with black twist ties/bread ties instead of tape. no telling what that glue would do to the hoses after a while.

Mine falls off too. I'm just gonna use some putty (blu tac) at the top of the tube and slip it on until it holds in place.
