okay, on the welder portion of the loader ......is everyones switch looking thing just slip over the silver tube? not that its critical that it stays put or not but i dropped mine a few times putting it together. im thinking of either putting a small dab of jewelers glue on it or something so it doesnt get lost. i cant remember if it was this thread or the pic thread that someone mentioned maybe taking electrical tape to the hoses. i would suggest going with black twist ties/bread ties instead of tape. no telling what that glue would do to the hoses after a while.

One thing about those hoses, was that the little grey ends kept poppin off after I had removed a few of them a couple of times, because they were in the wrong places. It was'nt that big of a deal since you can slip them back on or maybe glue them even,if your that anel that is. :lol

i only had to slip them off once because i didnt like the way it looked doing one side at a time starting on step one. someone suggested starting backwards to which i did & did the other side simultaneously..........worked out real good & the hoses look awesome. no connector end pop offs. though i may tie them up in the back a lil bit because it wont really be seen that much.

Yeah starting backwards sounds like a good idea.

I saw on the PL box that the hoses had some black tie wraps around them, but they obviously did not come with the PL,cause I checked.:monkey4:lol

yea, i also ran the majority of them on the outside of the rear vertical pistons......but thats just the way my loader rolls........:rotfl

I followed the instructions 1-10... did both sides simultaneously. They came out fine, I think. I purposely arranged some lengths to wrap thru other tubes differently, just so it doesn't look too uniform.

OK, here's the FINAL Working-Loader GIF for tonight:

I really wish I could get this thing to stomp forward, but it just won't stand on one foot long enough to snap a shot. :) Anyway, it will live for the rest of this year in my sig.

Maybe I'll try a daylight GIF tomorrow just for fun instead of my dark kitchen wall.

BTW, I think there's some confusion on the flamethrower. There is a hole on the cage arm for that "handle" to the flamethrower... the peg on the "handle" plugs into the bar to hold it in place, it's not a 'lever" or handle for Ripley.

Also for those who want to make their 'plastic' flamethrower a little more realistic, here's a pic from the museum PL:

This thing's rusty as hell.

Love the latest gif WG! :D

She sure is quick on the trigger though, maybe if ya can slow it down a beat or two you'll get even more of that mechanical feel...

Looks absolutely great in that light, and lit up. I swear this thing is so well made it could pass for a Film Prop, I mean it looks even better than the scale model one used in the film. Simply extraordinary.

Yeah, I was getting impatient towards the end I think. :)

Here's one I wasn't going to post because it's really jerky, but it's fun to see Rip turn the light on:

Hey, I love those amazing power loader GIFs Wor-Gar! How do you make them? I'd love to give it a shot sometime. Let me know. Thanks! :D

Pure Genious. :lol

didn't get online at all last night, and I come back to this!!! LOVE the gifs Worgar!!! How many frames are you latest ones? they are so cool!!!!!

i'm doing the sound effects in my head as I'm watching them.

Fantastic WorGar, but now you know you 'HAVE' to make it walk!

Thanks everyone on the Gifs! They're a lot of fun to make.

To those that wonder how this magic is realized :) it's just a frame-by-frame (meaning tedious) old-fashioned Harryhausen style. Part of my Photoshop, ImageReady, makes GIFS, which are nothing more than a string of photos that are layed out into a film-strip. There's no trick, you just need the software to make GIFS and some patience.

I would love to, and I did try, but you can't really get a 'frame' of the Loader lifting it's foot up to take a step -- obviously the thing would topple over. So instead it looks like it's shuffling toward you -- which isn't very exciting.
